摘要： The present invention provides an extension to a standard N-bit digital pulse width control method which can discriminate 2N discrete pulse widths per pulse cycle. The present invention provides a method and apparatus that can modulate the pulse widths over a period of 2M pulse cycles in which each pulse cycle can have its own pulse width or respective duty cycle. The resulting time averaged or effective pulse width therefore can be controlled with a resolution of 2N+M states rather than a resolution of 2N states as is common with standard methods.

摘要： The present invention provides a parallel pulse code modulation system enabling the independent control of a plurality of groups of one or more electronic devices. The system comprises a memory unit for receiving control data, from an external source, wherein this memory unit is configured to enable writing of the control data thereto and reading of the control data therefrom. The system further comprises a multiplexer connected to the memory unit for receiving the control data from the memory unit and organizing the control data into a serial data stream comprising groups of data. A shift register connected to the multiplexer receives the serial data stream from the multiplexer and translates each group of data into a parallel data stream output. Each parallel data stream output represents control parameters for a particular group of one or more electronic devices. A latch connected to the shift register and to the plurality of groups of one or more electronic devices, receives each parallel data stream output and sends a particular parallel data stream output to a corresponding group of one or more electronic devices, thereby providing independent control of the plurality of groups of one or more electronic devices. A logic sequencer integrated into the system provides sequencing and timing signals to the memory unit, the multiplexer, the shift register and the latch, thereby controlling actions and timing thereof.

摘要： The present invention comprises a method and system for controlling the chromaticity and luminous flux output of a digitally controlled luminaire. The luminaire comprises one or more light-emitting elements and one or more light sensors which can provide optical feedback, wherein this optical feedback is filtered to remove undesired frequencies. The method and system comprises a control system which can sample the filtered signals from the light sensors according to a predetermined feedback sampling frequency scheme, wherein this scheme is specifically configured to provide sufficient iterations of the feedback loop to be performed for adjustment of the chromaticity and luminous flux output of the light-emitting elements, without perceptible visual flicker or momentary chromaticity shifts.

摘要： The present invention provides a method and apparatus for collecting and detecting light emitted from a plurality of light-emitting elements. The light-emitting elements are grouped into two or more clusters of one or more light-emitting elements with the clusters arranged such that a portion of the light emitted from each cluster is directly incident upon a central axis, wherein every point along the central axis is equidistant from each cluster. A light collection means also having a central axis associated therewith is placed such that the central axis of the clusters and the central axis of the collection means coincide. The light collection means collects a substantially equal portion of light from each cluster and propagates the collected light to a detection means comprising an optical sensor for conversion to an electrical signal representative of the light emitted by the clusters. The electrical signal provided by the light detection means may be fed back to a controller for use in controlling the properties of the light emitted by the light-emitting elements.
