The apparatus further includes a device for preparing a batch of dot data indicative of the dots to be formed in corresponding picture elements positioned in the coordinate system. The dot data is prepared such that successive bits of the dot data corresponding to successive picture elements consisting of two picture elements represented by the above-indicated pair of coordinate values and at least one picture element between these two picture elements are set at one time such that each of the successive bits indicates a dot to be formed in the corresponding picture element.

摘要： A sintered ceramic heater, particularly a heater for a glow plug of a diesel engine, includes a sintered ceramic heater, which generates heat upon receiving an electric current, supported by an electrically insulating sintered ceramic body. The heater element includes a U-shaped cross-section outer portion integrally sintered with and covering a central portion. Each portion is formed of a sintered ceramic body of a mixture of electrically conductive ceramic powder having an average diameter of not more than 2 .mu.m and selected from the group consisting of MoSi.sub.2, WSi.sub.2, TiB.sub.2 and TiC, and 35-75 mol % of electrically insulating ceramic powder, e.g., Si.sub.3 N.sub.4. The central and outer portions have the same composition. However, in the central portion the average particle diameter of the conductive ceramic powder is equal to or larger than that of the insulating ceramic powder, whereas in the outer portion the average particle diameter of the conductive ceramic powder is not more than half that of the insulating ceramic powder. The specific resistance of the central portion is not less than 1.7 times as large as that of the outer portion so that the heat is generated by current flow through the outer portion of the ceramic heater.

摘要： A fuel heating apparatus for an internal combustion engine has a tubular extension member extending downwardly from the bottom end of an intake pipe into a mixture distribution chamber defined in an intake manifold beneath the inlet opening thereof connected to the intake pipe. An annular electric heater element is disposed in the mixture distribution chamber in vertical alignment with the tubular extension member so that the part of fuel which flows in liquid phase on the inner peripheral surfaces of the intake pipe and the tubular extension member falls therefrom onto the annular electric heater and heated and vaporized thereby and can be easily mixed with air from the intake pipe.

摘要： An intake manifold for a multicylinder internal combustion engine having fuel supplying means such as a fuel injection device or a carburetor includes a branch intake conduits each communicating with one of the cylinders of the engine, an extension tube connected to a primary suction conduit of the carburetor, and an incoming fuel charge heating device mounted on the bottom of the intake manifold. The extension tube has a curved portion in its wall directed toward a part of the surface of the bottom of the intake manifold at which the axial center lines of the branch intake conduits gather together and cut to form an open end of the extension tube. The incoming fuel charge heating device has a heating surface disposed near the open end of the extension tube, which is smoothly curved toward the bottom of the intake manifold. The open end of the extension tube is disposed on a plane forming an acute angle with the wall of the tube at the outermost edge of the open end and contiguous at the innermost edge thereof with a straight portion of the wall of the tube, as viewed in cross section. The incoming fuel charge heating device may include positive-temperature-coefficient thermistors.
