    • A coaxial connector includes a central contact, an insulating housing, a grounding shell and a clamp. Central contact, a cylindrical slim member, is formed by stamping a conductive thin metal sheet of phosphor bronze or other specially suitable material. The central contact has a forward end portion slotted to form a pair of leaf-spring-like contact pieces enabling resilient contact with both sides of plug pin. Plug pin is inserted into a contact receiving hole from the front side to establish electrical connections with contact pieces. Rear end portion of the central contact is integrally formed with an open-topped crimp barrel that has a U-shaped cross section in a plane perpendicular to the lengthwise direction of the central contact. Crimp barrel serves as a conductor connecting portion that is crimped into contact with the central conductor of the coaxial cable once the central conductor is inserted into the central contact from rear end portion.

    • A terminal has a base, a pair of caulking pieces integrally extending from the base, and a pair of bent pieces for regulating the movement of the electric wire. The caulking pieces are bent and retain the electric wire from over an insulating cladding thereof. The bent pieces integrally extend from the base and has an inclined surface contacting with the insulating cladding. The electric wire on the base is retained by the inclined surfaces and the caulking pieces at least from three directions. Accordingly, the lateral movement of the electric wire relative to the base when the terminal or the electric wire has been subjected to vibrations is regulated by bent pieces, whereby the impairment of the electric wire is prevented.

    • A base plate strip is formed with an extension which is forwardly extending from an electrical contact barrel. A groove is provided in the extension such that the groove is extending across a fore open end of the electrical contact barrel. A fore end extended piece of a resilient contact tongue strip overlies the extension of the base plate strip. The resilient contact tongue strip is cut together with the base plate strip along the fore open end of said electrical contact barrel. This defines a stepped surface in the base plate at the open periphery of the electrical contact barrel and defines an engagement end piece at the fore end of the resilient contact tongue. The engagement end piece engages with the stepped surface to prevent the resilient contact tongue from moving in the insertion direction of an associated pin terminal.

A thickness of the intermediate wall is substantially equal to a width of the inner end portions (13) and (14). Outer end portions of the press-connecting blades are embedded in the opposite side walls of the connector body, respectively.
