    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of carbon monoxide at combustion keeping an enough combustion temperature by facilitating the handling of combustion equipment combusting the mixture of atomized liquid fuel and air at a combustion part. SOLUTION: The generation of carbon monoxide at the combustion can be drastically reduced than that of the prior arts and the force of combustion can be secured by forming the combustion part of the combustion equipment combusting the mixture of the atomized liquid fuel and the air at the combusting part with porous matt having the pressure loss of 51 Pa or less at the airflow of 1.33 L/min per cm2. The generation of the carbon monoxide can be securely prevented and the reliability of the operation of the combusting equipment can be improved by arranging the structure of shutting down the combustion when the pressure loss at the combustion part exceeds 51 Pa at the airflow of 1.33 L/cm2/min.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate handling of a combustion device wherein a fuel-air mixture prepared by mixing atomized liquid fuel and air is burned, and to reduce amounts of nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxides generated during combustion, while combustion temperatures are being maintained. SOLUTION: A combustion part of the combustion device wherein a fuel-air mixture prepared by mixing atomized liquid fuel and air is burnt comprises a porous mat formed from a large number of fine metal wires each having a diameter of 100 μm or less. The mixture is burnt under conditions that the combustion surface temperature of the mat is 800 deg.C or higher to greatly reduce the generation of nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxides during combustion, while the strength of the combustion part can be maintained. For that reason, in the porous mat, ash Fe-Cr-Si metal is used, and the mat is prepared so that its pressure loss becomes 20 mm H2O or less when the cross sectional area is 0.785 cm2 and the flow rate is 10 l/min.
