摘要： A valve timing control apparatus includes a driving-side rotating member, a driven-side rotating member arranged coaxially with the driving-side rotational member so as to be rotatable relative to the driving-side rotating member, a retarded angle chamber and an advanced angle chamber, each of which is defined by the driving-side rotating member and the driven-side rotating member, a lock mechanism locking a relative rotational phase of the driven-side rotating member at a predetermined phase between a most advanced angle phase and a retarded angle phase, an operation fluid supply-and-discharge mechanism supplying/discharging an operation fluid to/from the retarded angle chamber, the advanced angle chamber and the lock mechanism, and a first air inlet mechanism for connecting one of the retarded angle chamber and the advanced angle chamber to an outside of the valve timing control apparatus in order to allow air to flow thereinto.

摘要： An airbag system includes belt support members for housing support belts used for coupling an airbag to a vehicle body, and belt covers disposed over the belt support members. A central cover panel on the vehicle body is adjacent to an airbag module in which an airbag is accommodated. Left and right cover panels are engaged with, and disposed laterally outside of the central cover panel in the vehicle-width direction. The belt support members are configured by overhanging parts of the central cover panel, which are overhung laterally outside, and extension parts of the cover panels and which extend laterally inside; and both of these components are engaged with each other through engaging portions in the belt support members. Notches are provided in the extension parts, extending in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle body outside in the vehicle-width direction relative to the engaging portions.

摘要： Predetermined voltage is applied to a liquid crystal lens by a liquid crystal lens driver. Image signals are generated based on an optical image passed through the liquid crystal lens during transient response operation caused by application of the predetermined voltage, and plural focus signals are extracted by sampling the image signals of the area from which the focus signals are extracted at predetermined cycles. Levels of the extracted focus signals are compared to determine the maximum value of the focus signal. Thus, with the liquid crystal lens, by making use of the transient response operation of the liquid crystal lens, a focus point can be detected in sufficient speed.

摘要： A redundant recording disk device includes a first logical sub-disk and a second logical sub-disk. Mirrored redundant data are recorded such that a recording position on the first logical sub-disk and a recording position on the second logical sub-disk are positions on a corresponding radius and have a phase difference of 180 degrees around respective rotation axes of the disks with respect to one data. Therefore, the practical use of the disk device can be continued even when one recording surface is not usable because of a fault, and the access speed of the disk can be increased when there is no fault since the mirrored data which have been written with a predetermined phase-offset into the different recording surfaces may be read out in a parallel manner.
