    • PURPOSE:To minimize the power consumption of a magnetizing/demagnetizing apparatus, by a method wherein the apparatus for mounting and feeding a part to be inspected on a Y-shaped yoke apparatus for magnetizing and demagnetizing the part to be inspected is entirely constituted of non-magnetic parts. CONSTITUTION:A part to be inspected is supplied to a turntable 5 at a first stop position thereof in a constant posture from a parts feeder 6 through a chute 7 and mounted to one of the apparatuses 4 mounting the article to be inspected of the table 5 in a correct posture by a reversal apparatus 8. Next, at a second position of the table 5, the part to be inspected is transferred to the center position of a magnetizing/demagnetizing apparatus 9 and excited by the alternating magnetic field generated by the coil of said apparatus 9 through the table 5 and a rotary magnetic field is induced to magnetize the part to be inspected. At this position, a definite amount of a fluorescent magnetic powder is applied to the part to be inspected. The part to be inspected is separated from the apparatus 9 in a demagnetizing direction at the beginning of the next rotation of the table 5 and, at this time, said part is demagnetized and, in the rotation stop apparatus of said table 5, the fluorescence of the magnetic powder is detected in a dark room 10 by a fluorescence magnetic powder detection apparatus 13 having an optical fiber 11 and a photomultiplier 12 to perform flaw detection. At the next stop position, good and inferior products are classified according to the flaw detection result.
