    • PURPOSE:To make erection of shield segments easy by a method wherein units comprising each of the segments are formed in trapezoid in plane figure, and the length on the outer peripheral edge of the unit is made longer than that on the inner peripheral edge. CONSTITUTION:A shield segment SO is constructed of one kind of units A1-A6 in quantity in even numbers. The units A are made in trapezoid in plane figure with the length (l1) on the outer peripheral edge made longer than the length (l2) on the inner peripheral edge. Both sides of the end face H of the unit is made in such form that lines of the sides cross each other at the center of the segment SO. The segment SO is made up in a way that the units A1-A3 in half the number of the units comprising the segment SO are placed so that they are equally distanced one another and the upper ends thereof look toward a face J, and the units A4-A6 comprising the other half of the segment are placed so that the lower ends thereof look toward the face J. Thereby expenses for forms for the units can be reduced, while making erection of the segments easy.

    • PURPOSE:To facilitate fastening of a nut by furnishing No.1 thread part at the end of a through bolt, providing No.2 thread part at the foremost part having a dia. smaller than the No.1 thread part, and forming a tapered surface thinner toward the tip at the foremost of the No.2 thread part. CONSTITUTION:A nut 14 is previously fitted on No.2 thread part 12, and nut N is driven to No.1 thread part 11 using a bolt fastening device. Therein the fastening work is done easily because of guidance of tapered surfaces 13a, 14a, and adjoining segments are fastened together. Then the nut 14 is removed, and a mortar slipoff preventive member is fitted on the No.2 thread part-even in this case, easy insertion can be done owing to the tapered surface 13a - and the nut 14 is fastened, preventive member 5 fitted, and a bolt box 2 filled with mortar etc. Thereby the nut 14 can be easily fastened to a through bolt, and slipoff preventive means be provided simply.

    • PURPOSE:To need no suspension metal fittings and simplify a mechanism by inserting a grasping body set on a base body rotatably with reciprocating motion, into the holding metal fittings of a shield segment, to be engaged with each other, and by pulling up the segment to hold it with friction due to a pressing force. CONSTITUTION:An assembling device is operated, and the pad 3 of a holding device 1 is brought in contact with a segment S, and holding pins 10, 10 are confronted with holding metal fittings 20, 20. After that, jacks 4, 4 are extended, and the axial sections 12 and projected sections 13, 13 of the respective holding pins 10, 10 are inserted into internal sections 24 via the slits 26 of the metal fittings 20. After that, the jacks 4 are rotationally moved by 90 deg., and the upper surfaces of the projected sections 13, 13 are confronted with the lower surface, of flanges 25. Then, the jacks 4, 4 are shortened, and with the holding pins 10, 10, the segment S is pulled up, and the friction pad 3 is pressed against the inner peripheral wall of the segment S and is held. As a result, the mechanism of the holding device 1 can be simplified, and the weight of it can be lightened, and it can be compacted.

    • PURPOSE:To facilitate form removal, and to prevent joint irregularities by inserting a tapered pin coated with a form removing agent toward a bolt box section from the end face of segment forms, placing concrete and connecting each segment by bolts after form removal. CONSTITUTION:A bolt box section 13 is provided as a recess near the circumferential surface 12 and end face 11 of forms 10 by which a shielding segment 1 is manufactured. A tapered pin 16, a surface of which is coated with a form removing agent and which is dried, is inserted into through-holes 11a, 14a, 15a. Concrete A is placed into the forms 10, the tapered pin 16 is form-removed after concrete A is cured, and the forms 10 are removed and a bolt 7 is housed into a bolthole 5 and a bolt box 6. Segments 1, 1A are joined, and both segments are clamped by the bolt 7 and nuts 8, 8A. Accordingly, the tapered pin 16 is form-removed easily by the coating of the form removing agent, and the segment 1 can be assembled accurately.

After that, the concrete 4 is pressed with the side molds 5 for a specified time and after that, the propelling jacks 6 are extended, and a shield excavator 1 is propelled.

    • PURPOSE:To increase the strength of a joint section by mutually joining segments and tightening and clamping both segments by bolts and nuts. CONSTITUTION:A recessed section 10 is shaped to a segment S, and first bolt inserting holes 12 are formed to the peripheral wall 10a of the recessed section 10. Two small recessed sections 11 are shaped integrally on the joint surface F side of the base 10e of the recessed section 10, and second bolt inserting holes 13 are formed on the joint surface F side of the small recessed sections 11 while bolt housing holes 14 are shaped on the side opposite to the inserting holes 13. Core bolts are housed into the second bolt inserting holes 13 and the bolt housing holes 14 previously, the segment is joined, through-bolts are inserted into the inserting holes 12, and nuts are screwed and the bolts are tightened. The core bolts are moved to the joint surface F sides and inserted into the bolt inserting holes 13 of adjacent segments, the nuts are screwed to both ends of the bolts and bolts are clamped, and the segments are connected mutually in coorporation with the through-bolts.
