    • The present invention provides a vulcanized foamed rubber molded product which has surface smoothness equal to or higher than that of a non-foamed vulcanized rubber molded product, has excellent mechanical strength properties, compression set resistance and abrasion resistance and a non-foamed vulcanized rubber molded product which is superior in surface smoothness to a conventional non-foamed vulcanized rubber molded product and has excellent compression set resistance, mechanical strength properties and abrasion resistance, as well as a method of producing the same. The molded product of the present invention is characterized in that the amount of sulfur atoms present in the surface thereof is at least 1.2 times as high as the amount of sulfur atoms present in a cut face obtained by cutting the surface to a depth of 1.0 mm in the vertical direction. The method of producing comprises allowing droplets or spray of a liquid containing an elementary substance consisting of a non-oxygen element in the group VI in the periodic table to adhere to the surface of a non-vulcanized rubber composition containing an elemental sulfur and/or a sulfur compound as a crosslinking agent, and then vulcanizing or vulcanizing and foaming the composition.

    • The first silicon-containing olefin copolymer of the present invention comprises (a) a constituent unit derived from —CH2—CH2—, (b) a constituent unit derived from —CH2—CHR— [R is a hydrocarbon group of 1 to 18 carbon atoms], and (c) a constituent unit containing a specific silicon-containing group, and has a molar ratio [(a)/(b)] of the constituent units (a) to the constituent units (b) of from 99/1 to 30/70, a content of the constituent unit (c) of from 0.1 to 10 mol % based on 100 mol % of the total amounts of the constituent units (a), (b) and (c), and a branching index of not less than 0.70. The second silicon-containing olefin copolymer of the present invention is obtainable by copolymerizing ethylene, an α-olefin of 3 to 20 carbon atoms and a specific silicon-containing ethylene monomer, and has a molar ratio of ethylene to α-olefin of from 99/1 to 30/70, an intrinsic viscosity, as measured in decalin at 135° C., of from 0.1 to 10 dl/g, a content of the ethylene monomer of from 0.1 to 10 mol % based on 100 mol % of the total amounts of ethylene, α-olefin and the ethylene monomer. These copolymers may be cross-linked and then submitted to use, and have a high cross-linking rate, excellent productivity, heat ageing properties, weathering resistance. They, further, can provide a rubber composition capable of preparing molded articles having excellent properties such as scratch resistance, resistance to compression set, electric properties and strength. They furthermore can provide sealing materials, potting materials, coating materials and adhesives made from the composition and also provide cross-linked articles of the composition.

    • A heat-resistant rubber composition of the invention is a vulcanizable composition comprising a specific ethylene-&agr;-olefin-nonconjugated polyene copolymer rubber (A) and an organic peroxide (B). This heat-resistant composition has high crosslinking efficiency given by the organic peroxide and high modulus, and can provide a vulcanized rubber molded product of excellent resistance to environmental deterioration such as thermal aging resistance. The other heat-resistant rubber composition of the invention is a vulcanizable composition comprising 100 parts by weight of a specific ethylene-&agr;-olefin-nonconjugated polyene copolymer rubber (A) composed of ethylene, an &agr;-olefin or 3 to 20 carbon atoms and a nonconjugated polyene which is a vinyl end group-containing norbornene compound, 0.2 to 5 parts by weight of an amine type anti-aging agent (C) and/or a hindered phenol type anti-aging agent (D), 1 to 10 parts by weight of a sulfur type anti-aging agent (E) and an organic peroxide (B). This heat-resistant rubber composition can provide a vulcanized rubber molded product showing not only excellent mechanical properties and electrical properties and but also prominently high thermal aging resistance.
