    • Upon request for retrofitting, workers bring a gadget and a marking tool and other tools to the user's home; the workers attach the marking tool to a keyboard, mark locators on a key bed by using the marking tool, form locating recesses therein, and bore reference seal holes by using a template, counter holes of which are aligned with the locating recesses; subsequently, the workers relate the gadget with the reference seal holes, bore through-holes in the key bed at target spots exactly below the black and white keys under the guide of the reference seal holes, and assemble a key drive unit with the key bed so that plungers pass through the through-holes; since the reference seal holes have been related with the keyboard, the gadget sequentially positions a drill at the target spots also related to the keyboard.

    • A real-play sound provider is connected with a communication terminal via a network. The user operates the communication terminal to transmit musical tone files, which include tone pitches and tone-generation timings of designated musical tones, to the real-play sound provider, so that the real-play sound provider controls a prescribed musical instrument to play automatic performance based on musical tone files, thus creating real-play sound files. The real-play sound files are created in accordance with prescribed conditions suiting user's preferences and are stored in a storage device of the real-play sound provider. Then, the real-play sound files are transmitted to the communication terminal upon user's designation of an address (e.g., URL) as necessary. Thus, the communication terminal controls a sound reproduction unit to reproduce sounds of the prescribed musical instrument, which is not possessed and played by the user.

    • There is provided a performance apparatus that is capable of reducing mechanical noise by a simple construction. Rotary picks are disposed in the vicinity of and in association with respective ends of a plurality of reeds, and four driving nails are formed integrally with outer peripheries of the rotary picks. A hook part is attached to the top of a plunger, and they make reciprocating motions together. The rotary pick is rotated by a driving force applied to the driving nail thereof from an engaging part formed by a lower end of the corresponding hook part. When the driving nail located symmetrically to the driving nail having received the driving force plucks the corresponding reed, the reed is sounded. The hook part is almost completely covered with a cushioning member formed of an elastic material such as rubber to absorb an impact that may occur when the driving nail of the rotary pick comes into contact with the hook part.
