    • A pattern inspection method including: sequentially imaging plural chips formed on a substrate; selecting a pattern which is suitable for calculating position gap between an inspection image of a subject chip and reference image stored in memory from an image of a firstly imaged chip among said sequentially imaged plural chips formed on the substrate; computing position gap between an inspection image of a chip obtained by the sequential imaging and reference image stored in a memory by using a positional information of a pattern image included in the inspection image and a reference pattern image included in the reference image which are both corresponding to the pattern selected at the selecting; aligning the inspection image and the reference image by using information of the calculated position gap; and comparing the aligned inspection image with the reference image and extracting a difference as a defect candidate.

    • A wearing type airbag apparatus that is worn by a passenger in advance of a collision, wherein the passenger is not prevented from normal movement during normal travel of a vehicle. Upon the vehicle having a collision, an airbag body is immediately inflated and deployed so that an impact against the passenger is effectively and adequately absorbed. The airbag body and an inflator are provided on a wearing member. An ELR device is provided on a vehicle body, a connecting cable drawn therefrom. The connecting cable is connected to the inflator by an activation switch, so that when a tensile strength of a predetermined value or higher is exerted to the connecting cable, the activation switch is activated to inflate and deploy the airbag body.

    • A multi-tone image processing method and apparatus in which mutually dissimilar tone levels are realized by changing the additive condition of recording energy by means of different recording positions, even when the number of recording operations within a specific range is identical. For example, in an electrophotographic apparatus, when the number of irradiation by a light spot within a specific range remains constant as the irradiation position is changed in the specific range, there is a change in the additive condition of the optical energy within said specific range. Thus, the area rendered visible within the aforesaid specific range also changes, thereby changing the tone level.
