摘要： PURPOSE: To execute more appropriate focusing in accordance with photographing conditions by inhibiting the focusing process by a passive system or selecting the result of the focusing by an active system in the case of depressing a focusing lock switch. CONSTITUTION: In the case where the focusing lock switch is turned on, only the result of the focusing by an active focusing part A is given to a focusing value selection circuit 40 and outputted as range-finding data. In the case where the focusing lock switch is not depressed, the focusing by the passive system is executed in a passive focusing part P, the results of the focusing by the focusing parts A and P are given to the selection circuit 40 through focusing arithmetic circuits 13 and 23. The selection circuit 40 outputs the focusing value of the passive focusing part P as the selected focusing data. Namely, in the case the focusing lock switch is depressed, the value of the active focusing part A whose object area is narrow and within a specified range is obtained and any of the values of both focusing parts A and P is selected in the case the switch is not depressed.

This result of focusing is outputted from the selection circuit 40 and succeeding photographing process is executed, based on the focusing value. Since the results obtained by both systems are averaged, the high focusing accuracy is obtained.

SOLUTION: As soon as a motor for feeding the film is driven at the time of pre-wind feeding, a timer is started, and when timer's counting is up, the driving of the motor is stopped. In the midst of feeding, the driving of the motor for feeding film is stopped in response to detecting shutter release operation, and also timer's counting time hitherto is reset. Thereafter, the motor for feeding film is driven again in response to detecting that the release operation is canceled, and counting time is started from the beginning.
