CONSTITUTION:A transverse rod 8 is brought down to a prescribed position and a tube 1 is driven into the ground in the opening state of a freely movable edge part 2 equipped with driving edges 4 and also provided with a section at a lower end opening part of a quadrangular sample tube 1, then the edge part 2 is entered into qravel strata. When a boring rod is rotated in this state, only a screw gear 9 is rotated without turning the tube 1 and is moved to the upper part. Accordingly, the transverse rod 8 and a movable rod 5 are pushed up with the elastic force of a spring 6 and the edge part 2 is turned toward the inner direction and the opening part of the tube 1 is closed, and the gravel stratum which is held in the edge 2 is gathered out easily and exactly into the tube 1, and it becomes a sample for grain size characteristics, etc. of the gravel strata.

    • PURPOSE:To improve accuracy and efficiency by using two kinds of water permeability coefficients by the change in the rate of underground permeating water infiltration and the change in recovery water level. CONSTITUTION:A pipe 13 mounted with a porous point 11 and a cone 12 at the end is driven through a boring hole 9, and a compressor 1, a blast air barometer 3, a flowmeter 4, a water level gauge 5 and a permeated air barometer 6 connected to its head 7. A water permeability coefficient is obtained from the change in the rate of underground permeating water infiltration per unit time by air pressure or the water permeability coefficient A is obtained from the change in underground infiltration rate per unit time by air pressure, thereafter the water level is lowered down to the porous point by the increased air pressure; thereafter, the air pressure is released and the water permeability coefficient B is obtained from the change in the recovered water level per unit time under atmospheric pressure. The water permeability coefficient B is corrected based on the water permeability coefficient A. Thereby, the final water permeability coefficient of high accuracy is obtained.
