    • The disc brake with a brake yoke (2) straddling a brake disc (1) has a tensioner on one side. The tensioner comprises a cam lever (4) which can be rotated about an axis parallel to the brake disc plane and co-operates with a cross-piece (6). The ends of the cross-piece (6) are screwed to adjusting spindles (7, 8) on which bears a brake pad (10). The two adjusting spindles (7 and 8) are coupled via a toothed belt (12). Into recesses in the two adjusting spindles (7 and 8) projects a rotary drive (14 or 14') which can be driven by the cam lever (4) and cause the adjusting spindles (7 and 8) to be screwed in the direction of approach to the brake disc (1) during the application or release movement. The synchronised operation of both adjusting spindles (7 and 8) is thus produced via the toothed belt (12). The rotary drive (14) contains a one-way rotary coupling and a torque-limiting coupling which prevents the adjusting spindles (7 and 8) from rotating during the application and release movements. The dual arrangement of the rotary drives (144 and 14') provide redundancy so that, if one rotary drive (14 or 14') should become ineffective, the clearance adjustment function is maintained and the disc brake cannot fail as the pads subsequently wear.

    • The description relates to a pneumatically operated disc brake with a brake caliper surrounding a brake disc, in which a brake application device is fitted on one side of the brake caliper and has a rotary lever which is fitted so as to pivot about an axis running parallel to the plane of the brake disc, on the side away from the brake disc, in a substantially semicircular bearing supported in relation to the brake caliper and, on the side towards the brake disc, bears approximately along the longitudinal centre line via an eccentric on a cross-member extending parallel to the axis of rotation wich is movable with respect to the brake disc and acts on a brake pad on the application side movably fitted in relation to the brake disc via a pressure member. For the best possible securing of the pressure member and the adjusting spindle, it is proposed that the front of the adjusting spindle towards the pressure member be closed and that a bearing journal be fitted which can be caused to engage with a recess formed in the pressure member.

    • The disck brake for vehicles has a brake yoke (2) with a tensioning device on one side. The tensioning device comprises a rotary lever (4) borne so as to rotate about a spindle crossing the axis of the brake disc at right angles and fitted in the brake yoke (2) which, by means of an eccentric can act upon a cross-piece (6), the ends of which are connected to a brake shoe (10) via push-rods. The eccentric takes the form of a bearing device (15) formed as a rotary bearing parallel to the spindle which connects the rotary lever (4) to the cross-piece (6) solely to rotate eccentrically to the spindle. The bearing may take the form of a roller bearing (21) or a self-lubricating plain bearing, it may be arranged in opposite, semicylindrical recesses (13 and 14) in the rotary lever (4) and the cross-piece (6), whereby one of its parts may be firmly secured to the rotary lever (4) or the cross-piece (6). The disc brake can thus be tensioned with low friction, wear and hysteresis.

    • The disc brake has a brake yoke (2) with an application device on one side of a brake disc (1). The application device comprises a rotary lever (8) which, by means of a rotary bearing (13) acting as an eccentric, acts centrally and longitudinally on a cross-piece (14) arranged parallel to the brake disc (1) and movable perpendicularly thereto. The ends of the cross-piece (14) are adjustably screwed to threaded sleeves (16, 17) on which a brake block (19) bears. Into the threaded sleeves (16 and 17) penetrate rotary drives (21 and 22) connected thereto in rotation and axially movable which provide automatic clearance adjustment. At their ends away from the brake disc the rotary drives (21 and 22) are interconnected via a synchronising device comprising, for instance, toothed gears and a toothed belt (26) interconnecting them. The rotary drives (21 and 22) and their synchronisation device together with an actuating member of a rotary actuator (23) for the rotary drives (21 and 22) are borne in a cover component consisting of two individual covers (29 and 31) and joined therewith to form a structural unit which can be flanged to the brake yoke from the side away from the brake disc. The two individual covers (29 and 31) are flanged together, whereby one individual cover (31) covers only the synchronising device. The arrangement provides simple and time-saving assembly and maintenance facilities for the disc brake.
