    • A mounting apparatus for securing electronic devices is disclosed.     • This invention provides for an off-the-record e-mail system that can ensure that messages, particularly sensitive messages, are available only for the intended recipient and never reside on permanent storage media. Control of the existence of the off-the-record e-mail can lie completely with the sender. The sender of the off-the-record e-mail sets the time-to-live (TTL) for the message content. When an off-the-record e-mail message is deleted, there is preferably no trace of the e-mail message on any computer backup system. The sender may also update the e-mail content at any time. The off-the-record e-mail system can include a personal server that combines the functions of a web server and an e-mail transfer server. The personal server may reside on an individual's personal workstation and might serve no one but that particular user. The personal server acts as a broker between the sender and the sender's SMTP server.

    • A system and method for providing silent conversation capability in a mobile communication device. Various aspects of the present invention may comprise establishing a wireless communication link between the mobile communication device and a second communication device. A user input may be received at the mobile communication device. A voice message may be determined from a plurality of voice messages based, at least in part, on the user input. Such determination may, for example, comprise selecting a voice message from a plurality of prerecorded voice messages and/or determining a voice message to be synthesized. The determined voice message may then be communicated to the second communication device. For example, the determined voice message may be communicated to the second communication device in such a way that people in the proximity of the mobile communication device might not hear the determined voice message.

    • A baseband processing module of a wireless terminal includes a Turbo decoding module. The Turbo decoding module decodes a Turbo code word to produce one or more Media Access Control (MAC) packet(s) carried by the turbo decode word. Each MAC packet includes a MAC packet header and the MAC packet payload, which carries one or more Radio Link Control (RLC) Packet Data Units (PDUs). The Turbo decoding module decodes the MAC packet header to determine boundaries of the PDUs carried in the MAC packet payload. The Turbo decoding module decodes RLC PDU headers and RLC PDU payloads of the RLC PDUs. The Turbo decoding module writes the decoded MAC packet header, the decoded RLC PDU headers, and the decoded RLC PDU payloads to memory in a word-aligned format. The Turbo decoding module may also operate in various other Turbo decoding modes.
