    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate whether or not an analyte test strip prepared to be used together with a test meter is suitable to be used together with the test meter.SOLUTION: An analyte test strip 100 includes a first insulating layer 102 and a conductive layer 104 disposed on the first insulating layer. The conductive layer includes at least one electrode portion and at least one electrical contact pad 112a, 112b, and the electrical contact pad is constituted so that an electrical connector pin of the test meter is moved along the electrical contact pad during insertion of the analyte test strip into the test meter. In addition, the electrical contact pad is in electrical communication with the electrode portion. The analyte test strip also includes at least one meter identification mechanism 116a, 116b, and the meter identification mechanism is disposed on the electrical contact pad such that the electrical connector pin of the test meter is moved across the meter identification mechanism during insertion of the analyte test strip into the test meter.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for creating information on a fluctuation in a concentration of glucose and a history of hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia, especially information supplied based on blood sugar data every time it is obtained from a measurement instrument and eliminating a necessity of actual measurement values of a concentration of HbA1c.
      SOLUTION: The method for managing the blood sugar data includes: a step for preparing a plurality of the blood sugar data collected for a fixed period; a step for estimating the idiosyncratic concentration of HbA1c from a plurality of the blood sugar data by using a first predetermined algorithm having at least one exclusion reference; a step for calculating an idiosyncratic variable index of diabetes from a plurality of the blood sugar data by using a second predetermined algorithm having at least one exclusion reference; and a step for comparing an idiosyncratic variable index of diabetes and the idiosyncratic concentration of HbA1c.
