    • 1370972 Stacking and feeding sheets NOROB SYSTEM AB 7 Sept 1972 [14 Sept 1971] 41561/72 Heading B8R [Also in Divisions G4 and E2] A machine for use in establishments (e.g. banks or post offices) handling large numbers of documents (banknotes in the embodiment shown) comprises storage spaces 15b (Fig. 2), each for particular denomination banknotes, compartments 1 for receiving notes of respective denominations to be deposited, conveyers 13a, 13b, 14a for feeding notes from compartments 1 to the respective storage spaces 15b, and conveyers 14a, 19a, 19b for feeding notes for withdrawal from the storage spaces 15b to delivery openings 23 under the control of a keyboard. The keyboard includes keys 11a, for entering the amount to be withdrawn, and keys 33, for entering a secret code individual to the machine and/or the machine operator. After such entries, the amount is dispensed in the least possible number of notes or, if an entry is also made via keys 22 in notes of a particular denomination. Lights 44 (Fig. 1), indicate empty storage spaces 15b. An indicator (not shown) of full storage spaces may also be provided. Counters (not shown) may be provided for indicating at all times the amounts stored in different denominations. Storage spaces 15b (Fig. 6).-Notes within a space 15b are supported within channel-defining walls 150 on the conveyer belt 14a when the latter is stationary. When the belt is about to move, a push rod 159 acting through yoke 157, 158 lifts pivoted angle strips 160, 161 to raise the stored notes clear of belt 14a, Fig. 4 (not shown). The belt feeds deposited notes to a position beneath the raised stored notes and then stops. When the strips 160, 161 are lowered, they abut the pack of deposited notes and are pivoted thereby to clear the sides of the deposited pack, Fig. 5 (not shown). The deposited pack is thus combined with the stored pack and strips 160, 161 continue moving back to the Fig. 6 position. Belt 14a may be of rubber incorporating carborundum. The conveyers 13a, 13b, 14a, 19a, 19b may be at least partly replaced by pneumatic devices.

    • 1363681 Feeding sheets HARRIS-INTERTYPE CORP 12 Oct 1971 [19 Oct 1970] 47462/71 Heading B8R In a method of feeding sheets to a receiver 10 from a pile, the pile 39 is fed on a first horizontal conveyer means below the receiver, e.g. belts 32, to second conveyer means, e.g. belts 34, inclined upwardly from said first means, the input end of the second means being adjacent the output end of the first means such that as the lowermost sheet of the pile 39 reaches the input end of said second means, its leading edge portion is conveyed upwardly by said second means causing the pile to topple over resulting in an overlapping stream being conveyed up said second means. The belts 34 may move at a faster speed than the belts 32 to feed the stream to a third set of belts 36 which may move at a yet faster speed to completely separate sheets in the overlapping stream. The heights of all the belts and inclination of the belts 34 are adjustable. Sensors (150), (151), Fig. 4 (not shown), may be used to control indexing of a conveyer belt 38 which supplies piles to the belts 32, whilst adjustable side walls (120), (130), (138) may be used to guide the piles and bow separated sheets.
