    • A runout and braking device, particularly for medium steel rolled sections, includes a run-in roller table and a braking device arranged laterally offset and parallel to the run-in roller table, wherein the run-in roller table and the braking device form a runout and braking system. The runout and braking device of the above-described type includes a braking device with a rigidly arranged braking trough with a bottom which is outwardly inclined relative to the horizontal direction. The run-in roller table includes a lifting bottom forming a plane, wherein conveying rollers mounted below the lifting bottom protrude above the plane of the lifting bottom. Pivoting devices are provided for pivoting the run-in roller table together with the lifting bottom and the conveying rollers arranged below the lifting bottom about a laterally offset pivoting point into an inclined position toward the braking trough.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for deciding a position of the tip of a rolled stock when a plurality of bar-shaped rolled stocks are conveyed in parallel.
      SOLUTION: This apparatus 1 for deciding the position of the rolled stock is provided with rollers 5, a 1st stopper 7, a 2nd stopper 9, a 1st elevating/ lowering means 11, a 2nd elevating/lowering means 13, a slide table 15, a sliding means 17 and a base 19. The 1st stopper 7 is elevated and lowered by the 1st elevating/lowering means 11. The 2nd stopper 9 is elevated and lowered by the 2nd elevating/lowering means 13. The rolled stock 3 is fed with the rollers 5. The progress of the rolled stock 3 is stopped by bringing the tip into contact with the rolled stock on the 1st stopper 7 or the 2nd stopper 9. In the rolled stock 3 in contact with the 1st stopper 7 and the rolled stock abutted on the 2nd stopper 9, their crop lengths are different. By moving the slide table 15 with respect to the base 19 by the sliding means 17, the arbitrary difference of the crop length is set.
