    • A hydraulic coupling (32) includes a control valve (80) that controls pumping from a casing inlet port (58) by a hydraulic pump (48) through a casing outlet port (78) to control coupling between two rotary members. The casing (34) is connected to one of the rotary members while an impeller (50) having between five and seven external teeth is connected to the other rotary member and meshed with an internal ring gear (54) having one more tooth than the number of impeller teeth to provide sufficient pumping capacity so that the pump can act as a brake while still having relatively constant pumping pressure. The control valve (80) includes a bimetallic valve element (82) that compensates for temperature changes and may also include a speed sensitive valve closure (104) for providing immediate coupling without delay above certain speeds of operation. Mounting of the bimetallic valve element (82) of control valve (80) within a recess (98) provides accurate control of the temperature compensation.

    • The present invention relates to an apparatus for pumping or compressing a fluid, the apparatus characterised by a compression chamber including an inlet and outlet, opposed front and rear vane members disposed inside said compression chamber, each vane member including at least one axially extending vane segment and at least one radially disposed open segment adapted to receive a vane segment of the opposed vane member, wherein adjacent vane segments of mating vane members form radial compartments there between. The assembly further includes a swing arm assembly for effecting equal and opposite rotational oscillation of the front and rear vane members such that adjacent vane segments oscillate toward and away from one another simultaneously, thereby creating a bellowing effect which draws fluid into the chamber via the inlet and discharges fluid out of the chamber via the outlet. The invention further relates to an assembly for translating rotational motion of an input shaft to oscillatory motion of the vane members.

    • PURPOSE: A gerotor pump is provided to reduce frictional force between an outer rotor and a casing by forming a compressive chamber in a casing in which power is applied to the outer rotor by fluid pressure. CONSTITUTION: A gerotor pump comprises a lower casing(100), an upper casing(200), a gerotor(300), and a flexible plate. In the lower casing, a suction path connected to an inlet(110) is formed on the upper side. The upper casing is combined to the upper side the lower casing and comprises an outlet path connected to an outlet(210) is formed on the lower side. In the upper casing, a compressive chamber(P) is formed towards an outlet chamber, and the compressive chamber is connected to the outlet of the upper casing. The gerotor is admitted between the upper and lower casings and is engaged so that internal rotor(310) and outer rotor can be spun eccentrically. The flexible plate is combined in the upper side of the gerotor and is comprised of flexible materials in order to be selectively formed outlet paths by internal pressure of the gerotor.
