Kurze, breite Verbindungswege (10, 20) bewirken guten Gasaustausch mit mäßig hoher Strömungsgeschwindigkeit. Während jeder Motorwellen-Umdrehung erfolgen zwei symmetrisch-gegenüberliegende Verbrennungshübe (= vier Arbeitshübe), somit je vier Auspuff-, Spül-, Ansaug- und Verdichtungshübe. Die Konstruktion erlaubt Vollkeramik- und Typenvielfalt bei hohem Wirkungsgrad.
