    • In a conventional device that performs obliquity correction by blocking the leading end of a sheet, it was difficult to improve the throughput in sheet conveyance by increasing the sheet conveyance speed and by reducing the intervals between sheets that are conveyed sequentially.
      A sheet conveying device includes a blocking member having a blocking surface with which a leading end of a sheet that is being conveyed comes into contact for obliquity correction, whereby the leading end of the sheet can be blocked, the blocking member rotating by being pushed by the leading end of the sheet that is being conveyed. The blocking member is rotatable to be in a sheet-passage-allowing orientation in which the sheet is allowed to pass. After a trailing end of the sheet that is being conveyed has passed the blocking member, the blocking member that is in the sheet-passage-allowing orientation rotates in a same direction as a sheet conveyance direction and is positioned to be in a standby position.

    • A stripper blade assembly for an ink jet offset printer has a thin blade fixedly mounted on a leading edge of a top surface of a blade holder. The blade holder includes at a trailing edge flexible eyelet portions that extend downwards to snap over protuberances on mechanical connectors overmolded onto a rotatable shaft in order to secure the blade holder to the shaft. The thin blade engages the surface of an offset drum of the ink jet offset printer along the width of the drum at an appropriate point in the print process to strip the leading edge of a print medium from the offset drum surface, minimizing damage to the offset drum surface and to the printed image on the print medium while also minimizing the risk of a jam.
