摘要： An apparatus for releasably holding a tubular toolholder shank by axially reciprocating a lock rod between a locked and unlocked position. Compression balls following a helical path on a torque nut are used to retract a compression sleeve, which in turn compresses springs against the lock rod to move the lock rod into the locked position. As a result, a repeatable lock rod force is possible with a pre-determined and self limiting rotation of the torque nut. The same helical groove may be used to advance the compression sleeve against the lock rod to urge the toolholder from the base member.

A second blind hole extends into the side surface of the enlarged forward end. An extraction device, such as the shank of a worn tool, is inserted into the blind hole. Where the extraction device is a worn tool, the cutting end of the tool is hit with a hammer to remove the tool from a base block mounting.

The cutter releasing mechanism of the present invention is suitable for both vertical and horizontal combination machinery by minimizing the increased length of the main shaft caused by adding the cutter releasing mechanism so as to alleviate vibration of the shaft working at a high speed.

摘要： A method and apparatus for managing changes to computerized medical protocols is provided. Each change to a medical protocol results in a new binary file being generated. Each binary file associated with the protocol then has a version number, which may be divided into two parts: a major version number and a minor version number. The default is that major changes to the medical protocol result in an incremented major number while minor changes to the medical protocol result in an incremented minor number. At assignment time, the version of the medical protocol to be assigned is assumed to be the one with the highest major number. At execution time, the version of the medical protocol to be executed is assumed to be the one with the highest minor number. This allows for the constant modification of treatment protocols without interfering with the protocols of patients already receiving treatment.
