    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflective type liquid crystal display device so improved to display a screen like a translucent liquid crystal display device even in a dark state wherein light introduced from outside is weak. SOLUTION: The reflective type liquid crystal display device 100 includes: an upper substrate 110 provided with a polarizing plate on one surface; a lower substrate 120 spaced away from the other surface of the upper substrate 110; a liquid crystal layer 130 disposed between the upper substrate 110 and lower substrate 120; a color filter layer 111 formed on the other surface of the upper substrate; a self-luminous body 112 provided side by side with the color filter layer 111 in a region besides a pixel region so as to radiate light by itself depending on an electric current; and a transparent ITO layer 113 formed on the other side of the color filter layer 111 and the self-luminous body 112. It is possible to operate the liquid crystal display device 100 without degradation of reflection efficiency in a dark state wherein light introduced from outside is weak.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device and a method for fabricating the device capable of preventing defects derived from a defective UV-curing of a sealant while employing one-drop fill technology. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: an array substrate having a metal signal line, a thin film transistor and a pixel electrode fabricated on a first glass substrate; a color filter substrate 10 having a light shielding pattern 2a and a color filters 3 to 5 fabricated on a second glass substrate 1, and disposed in opposition to the array substrate; a sealant as an adhesive between the array substrate and the color filter substrate 10 and cured by irradiation with UV rays; and a liquid crystal layer disposed in a space formed by the sealant, the array substrate and the color filter substrate 10 and formed by one-drop fill technology. The light shielding pattern 2a is made of a resin material including a transparent heat-reactive pigment which is changed into black through a heat-sensitive reaction, and the pattern contains the heat-reactive pigment which is changed into black by the heat-sensitive reaction with UV rays transmitting upon irradiating the sealant with UV rays.
