摘要： A printing apparatus and ink discharge failure detection method capable of precisely detecting temperature information corresponding to each nozzle are provided. Temperatures of respective electrothermal transducers (heaters) are measured on the basis of outputs from a plurality of sensors corresponding to the respective heaters. The temperatures of the heaters at a predetermined timing during a printing operation are predicted on the basis of the temperature change profiles of the respective heaters that are generated by energizing the heaters. A plurality of thresholds corresponding to nozzle states are generated on the basis of the predicted temperatures and the driving conditions of an inkjet printhead, and it is controlled to execute temperature measurement at the predetermined timing. A temperature measured under the control is compared with the respective generated thresholds, and the nozzle state is identified on the basis of the comparison results.

摘要： A recording head is provided that detects temperature information corresponding to a plurality of electro-thermal transducers. The recording head includes a driving circuit that performs driving by dividing a plurality of heaters into a plurality of blocks and supplies electric current on a block-by-block basis based on recording data. A constant current source applies a common bias current to each temperature sensor group obtained by dividing temperature sensors disposed in correspondence to each heater of a plurality of heaters into blocks. A voltage output circuit is further included having a switching element turns an electric current supply to the temperature sensors of the selected temperature sensor group ON and OFF, and of which obtains a voltage generated at both terminals of the selected temperature sensor by supplying an electric current to the temperature sensor; and an amplifier circuit amplifying the detection voltages.

摘要： A liquid discharge head which comprises an element substrate having on one surface thereof energy generating element for generating energy to be utilized for discharging liquid from a liquid discharge port, and a liquid supply port communicated with the liquid discharge port, a printed substrate provided with an external fetch electrode, and an IC component for control use for the energy generating element having provided therefor an output side electrode connected with the energy generating element and an input side electrode connected with the external fetch electrode. For this liquid discharge head, at least the aforesaid output side electrode of the IC component for control use is provided for the one surface of the element substrate. With the structure thus arranged, it is made easier to elongate the liquid discharge head in higher precision, and also, as compared with the case where the driver (driving element) for the discharge energy generating element is incorporated on the assembling substrate, the nondefective ratio of the finished products thereof is enhanced, hence contributing to the manufacture at lower costs.

摘要： A respirator system is composed of a blower unit for supplying and vacuuming air, a control valve for selecting a positive pressure and a negative pressure from the blower unit to send a vibrating air pressure, a diaphragm for vibrating in connection to the vibrating air pressure to send respiration gas to a patient, and a hollow housing partitioned by the diaphragm into a first pressure chamber cooperating with the vibrating air pressure and a second pressure chamber cooperating with the respiration gas. In addition, the respirator system is further composed of a sensor for sensing the position of the diaphragm in the hollow housing, a pressure regulator for increasing or decreasing the positive pressure and the negative pressure, and a pressure controller for driving and controlling the pressure regulator based on data on the diaphragm position outputted from the sensor. In the respirator system, the pressure regulator increases or decreases the positive pressure and the negative pressure. Thereby, responsiveness can be remarkably improved.

The anti-reflection film comprises a layer structure including at least one layer for promoting optical interference to decrease reflected light brightness and provided with surface unevennesses at a prescribed pitch.
