    • A method for performing a soft handoff, including establishing a first control channel via a network between a first BSC and a first BTS. The method also includes establishing a second control channel via the network between a second BSC and a second BTS. A call between a mobile station (MS) and the first BTS is established, and while the call continues an indication is sent to the first BSC that the MS has received a signal from the second BTS. In response to the indication, a trigger is conveyed from the first BSC to the second BTS, and, in response to receiving the trigger at the second BTS, further traffic associated with the call is directed between the MS, the second BTS, and the first BSC, without conveying the further traffic through the second BSC.

    • An antenna is provided with an electronic component or circuit that has a value corresponding to properties of the antenna. A read mechanism reads the value and sets an operational status of a transceiver based on the value. In one embodiment, electronic component is a resistor having a value that identifies the antenna properties. A table may be used to correlate resistor values to different types of antennas or sets of antenna properties. Alternatively, the circuit can be embodied in a microchip that provides a response to a challenge sent by the read mechanism. The response encodes the properties of the antenna. The encoding scheme includes values from the challenge. Alternatively, the response is a code that is indexed into a table of antenna properties. In one embodiment, the antenna is connectorized.

    • A lock detection circuit operatively associated with a phase-locked loop indicates when a feedback clock signal is locked to a reference clock signal. The lock detection circuit counts the number of rising and falling edges of the feedback clock signal that are detected between rising edges of the reference clock cycle. The lock detection circuit counts the number of consecutive valid cycles of the reference clock signal during which a single rising edge and a single falling edge of the feedback clock signal are detected. Lock detection circuit asserts a lock signal when the number of consecutive valid cycles counted exceeds a predetermined number. Where the lock detection circuit indicates locked signals and then detects a reference clock cycle that is not valid, lock detection circuit continues to indicate lock if the next reference clock cycle is valid relative to a skewed feedback clock signal.

    • A multi-feature stroller (100) includes several unique features. The stroller, which has a forward sub-frame (104) and a rearward sub-frame (108) that is foldable upon itself, provides a napper bar (150) which extends outwardly from the forward sub-frame (104). The napper bar (150) provides a locking mechanism (254) which engages one of two locking tongues (190) extending from an underside of a car seat (160). Accordingly, the car seat (160) may be carried by the stroller (100) in a forward-facing position and a rearward-facing position. The napper bar (150) is moveable between an extended position and a recessed position by actuating a release mechanism (302). A fold down mechanism (130) is connected between the rear sub-frame (108) and the forward sub-frame (104) when actuated causes the sub-frames to fold into a collapsed position and simultaneously causes the napper bar to fall to its recessed position. The stroller (100) is also provided with an adjustable foot rest (120) that is slidable upon the forward sub-frame. A cross member (116), which extends between the forward sub-frame, supports the foot rest in one of two positions. The stroller is also provided with a lock adjustment (140) which allows height and length adjustment between a handle bar (134) and a push bar (132) that is connected to the rear and forward sub-frames. These features can be provided singly or in various combinations with one another.
