摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deformation of an exhaust port-side cylinder wall by thermal expansion by increasing the flow rate of cooling water carried in the exhaust port-side water jacket of an engine, thereby reducing the temperature difference of the cylinder wall 3 between the exhaust port side and intake port side.
SOLUTION: This cooling device for engine has a cylinder block 1 having a water jacket 4 opened to the surface of the cylinder block 1 and surrounding a cylinder bore 2 to pass cooling water, and a gasket 11 nipped between a cylinder head and the cylinder block 1 to seal the both. The basket 11 has a control plate 21 for controlling the flow of cooling water, the plate being protruded into the water gasket 4. The control plate 21 is formed circularly along the shape of the water jacket 4, and provided on the intake port side.

SOLUTION: A cylinder block 1 has the water jacket 4 formed so as to open to the upper surface of the cylinder block and surround the circumference of the cylinder wall 3, and the water cooling passage 5 for supplying cooling water to the water jacket. A protruding piece 21 is provided protrusively into a connection part 5b constituting the passage 5, and this protruding piece 21 prevents the cooling water carried through the passage 5 from directly cooling the upper part of the cylinder wall 3. By providing the protruding piece, the excessive cooling of the cylinder wall of a high temperature can be prevented.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a metal gsaket which maintains the high sheet performance by making the bead part of one bead plate to the thinner plate thickness and/or lower hardness than that of the bead part of the other bead plate. CONSTITUTION:The bead plate 1a on a cylinder head side has a plate thickness of 0.2-0.25mm thinner than the bead plate 1b on a cylinder block side having a common plate thickness of 0.25-0.3mm, and each of the beads 5a and 5b has the equal width of 1.5-2.5mm. When a metal gasket thus formed is tightened by a prescribed force, the bead 5b on the cylinder block side becomes flat because a prescribed force acts, while the bead 5a on the cylinder head side is deformed largely in comparison with the case of the bead 5b, because of the thinner plate thickness, and the top part of the bead 5b after deformation is fitted.
