    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shoe 4 excellent in seizure-proof by forming a plurality of fine irregularity in uniform in a sliding surface 4A of the shoe 4 and by introducing a lubricating oil there. SOLUTION: A plurality of swelling sections 6 are formed by irradiating the sliding surface 4A of the shoe 4 with a laser in such a state of a plurality of lines parallel to the surface, and concave portions 7 are formed at locations adjacent to them simultaneously. The above-mentioned swelling section 6 and its inner side form a direct quenching section 11 high in hardness, and the concave portion 7 and its inner side form double quenching section 12, furthermore, its location is lower than the above-mentioned selling section 6 in hardness. After the above-mentioned laser quenching, irregularity is removed to get a smooth surface by processing the sliding surface 4A in lapping up to a location of imaginary line 15, after that the sliding surface 4A is processed in buffing. This makes a plurality of the fine irregularities form in the sliding surface 4A in such a way that a portion low in hardness is shaved off greatly compared by a portion of high hardness, then a plurality of the fine irregularities are formed in the sliding surface 4A. CONSTITUTION:A ring seal device 5 has a retainer 11 secured to the housing 1 of a turbocharger. A deflector 3 is mounted on the lubricating chamber 6 side of the retainer 11. A circular recessed portion 31 the center of which locates at a through-hole 11a is formed in the lubricating chamber 6 side end face of the retainer 11. A recessed portion 31 for discharging lubricating oil is formed which is communicated with the lower portion of the circular recessed portion 31 and extends downward along the radial direction of the retainer 11. Lubricating oil flowing into the discharging recessed portion 32 is scarcely allowed to flow out again onto the inner peripheral surface of the circular recessed portion 31 and so can be quickly introduced into a drain 20. Thus the leakage of lubricating oil from the ring seal device can be effectively prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To enable a seal member to make positive sealing action and to be manufactured at a low cost by bringing a synthetic resin made cylindrical seal member into slidable contact with the peripheral part of an axis and also bringing a lip type seal in slidable contact with the peripheral surface of the axis more on the sealing fluid side than the cylindrical seal member. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical seal member 8 made of synthetic resin is provided on the sliding contact face, between the axis of rotation 2 and a lip type seal 5, and brought into slidable contact with the peripheral surface 2a of the axis 2, and also the lip type seal 5 is brought into slidable contact with the peripheral surface 2a of the axis 2 more on the sealing fluid 4 side than the cylindrical seal member 8. With this constitution, double seal is obtained by the synthetic resin made cylindrical seal member 8 and the rubber made lip type seal 5, so that sealing action is made positive, and also the durability of the sliding contact face can be heightened by the synthetic resin made cylindrical seal member 8. A doubly sealed part can be thus obtained only with one sheet of lip type seal 5, which makes the structure simpler and the manufacturing cost lower than those of a device provided with plural lip type seals 5.
