摘要： A nanowire varactor diode (200) and methods of making the same are disclosed. The structure comprises a coaxial capacitor running the length of the semiconductor nanowire (100). In one embodiment, a semiconductor nanowire (100) of a first conductivity type is deposited on a substrate. An insulator (102) is formed on at least a portion of the nanowire's surface. A region of the nanowire is doped with a second conductivity type material. A first electrical contact is formed on at least part of the insulator and the doped region. A second electrical contact is formed on a non-doped portion of the nanowire (100). During operation, the conductivity type at the surface of the nanowire inverts and a depletion region is formed upon application of a voltage to the first and second electrical contacts. The varactor diode (200) thereby exhibits variable capacitance as a function of the applied bias.

摘要： A pressure sensor 100 suitable for being fitted to or embedded in a tyre comprises an integrated circuit 101 mounted on a lead frame 102, the integrated circuit 101 incorporating a pressure sensing element. A gel blob 103 covers the pressure sensing element of the integrated circuit 101. The integrated circuit 101, lead frame 102 and gel blob 103 are encapsulated within a plastic moulded package 104. An opening 106 is provided in the plastic package 104 through which the gel blob 103 is exposed to the atmosphere. The gel blob 103, being flexible is able to transfer the pressure of the atmosphere to the pressure sensing element. A filter 105 covers the opening 106 in order to prevent the ingress of water or harmful substances into the aperture. In alternative embodiments, the gel blob 103 may be removed.

摘要： A method and apparatus for an electronic substrate having a plurality of semiconductor devices is described. A thin film of nanowires is formed on a substrate. The thin film of nanowires is formed to have a sufficient density of nanowires to achieve an operational current level. A plurality of semiconductor regions are defined in the thin film of nanowires. Contacts are formed at the semiconductor device regions to thereby provide electrical connectivity to the plurality of semiconductor devices. Furthermore, various materials for fabricating nanowires, thin films including p-doped nanowires and n-doped nanowires, nanowire heterostructures, light emitting nanowire heterostructures, flow masks for positioning nanowires on substrates, nanowire spraying techniques for depositing nanowires, techniques for reducing or eliminating phonon scattering of electrons in nanowires, and techniques for reducing surface states in nanowires are described.

摘要： Disclosed are a hollow filter disc (201) and a laminated filter comprising the same. The hollow filter disc (201) comprises two annular disc pieces (2011) with filtering pores and an internally hollow annular frame (2012) sized and shaped to match with the annular disc pieces (2011), wherein a number of throughholes (2014) are provided at the inner periphery of the annular frame (2012), and each of the annular disc pieces (2011) is pressed and detachably secured to the corresponding one of the annular surfaces of the annular frame (2012) and is sealed against it at the junctions therebetween, thus forming a water reservoir chamber between the two annular disc pieces (2011) and the annular frame (2012). The laminated filter has a filter core composed of a group of the said hollow filter discs (201) and a water outflow core pipe (202) provided with a number of water inlet orifices (2021) at it periphery, wherein the hollow filter discs (201) are inserted through by the water outflow core pipe (202). The laminated filter may be provided with an automatic cleaning device or an unpowered automatic cleaning device.
