The method includes receiving, at a mobile device, a first indicator indicating a downlink control channel format. The first indicator is received within a first sub-set of a system bandwidth for a wireless network. The method also includes determining the downlink control channel format based at least in part on the first indicator and a portion of the system bandwidth available for use by the mobile device. 摘要： A user equipment UE is signaled to utilize a second format for downlink control information as opposed to a first format. Resources allocated by the first format are not bandwidth-restricted respecting a carrier and resources allocated by the second format are restricted to a subset of bandwidth sub-bands. The UE is then scheduled on resources that are restricted to the subset of sub-bands using the second format. In various specific embodiments the sub-bands are defined by predetermined static frequency bounds for the UE specifically or for the entire cell; the sub-bands may be defined by a predetermined algorithm which identifies a sub-band index as a function of UE identity, system frame number, and/or a number of sub-bands which are in the subset. The second format has a resource allocation field whose length depends on how many physical resource blocks are in the sub-bands and therefore in the subset.

The UE checks to see if the primary cell (PCell) TA is useable on the SCell by calculating the SCell TA and comparing it to the PCell TA. If the PCell TA is not useable on the SCell, the UE sends timing assistance information to the network informing that a TA other than the PCell TA is needed, and possibly a recommended TA group. 摘要： The invention allows flexible disabling/enabling of cross-carrier scheduling in carrier-aggregated wireless data transmission. In response to detecting a predetermined disabling indication of cross-carrier scheduling of received carrier aggregated wireless data transmission, the disabling indication targeting subframes allocated to uplink in a first component carrier transmitted from a cross-carrier scheduling cell and to downlink in a second component carrier transmitted from a cross-carrier scheduled cell: a downlink control region in the targeted subframes in the second component carrier is monitored for uplink/downlink grants; and in response to detecting an uplink/downlink grant, the detected uplink/downlink grant is utilized in uplink/downlink scheduling of the targeted subframe in the second component carrier.
