    • PURPOSE:To obtain a miniature and inexpensive pyroelectric temperature sensor which supplies infrared rays to a pyroelectric material intermittently and then detects them as an alternating-current output, by sliding glass fiber radiated with infrared rays by a reciprocating driver. CONSTITUTION:Pyroelectirc material 6 with electrodes 7 and 7' formed on both sides is arranged in shield body 1 and through glass fiber 9 whose one terminal is connected to window 2 of shield body 1 while the other (free terminal) is moved vertically by reciprocating driver 11 through connecting rod 10, infrared rays are led in and caused to strike pyroelectric material 6. Supplied infrared rays strike intermittently pyroelectric material 6 through the vertical movement of the glass fiber to generate an alternating-current pyroelectric current, which is detected by detection circuit 8 to measure the quantity of incident infrared rays. As the above- mentioned reciprocating driver, an electromagnetic vibrator, bimorph piezoelectric vibrator, etc., can be used to obtain a miniature and inexpensive unit.

CONSTITUTION:Pyroelectric material 6 with electrodes 7 and 7' formed on both sides is arranged in shield body 1 and shield plate 9 moved up-down by reciprocating driver 10 irradiates pyroelectric material 6 with infrared rays supplied through window 2 of shield body 1 by way of a light path provided at a halfway point. Supplied infrared rays strike pyroelectric material 6 intermittently through the vertical movement of shield plate 9 to generate an alternating-current pyroelectric current, which is detected by detector circuit 8 to measure the quantity of incident infrared rays. Further, an electromagnetic vibrator, bimorph electric vibrator, etc., can be used as the above-mentioned reciprocating driver to obtain a miniature and inexpensive unit.
