SOLUTION: A form work is prepared for manufacturing a resin-coated segment formed of a bottom part form work 21 having at least one curved surface, side part form works 22 and 23 movable along the bottom part form work 21, and an upper part form work 24 having a concrete filling hole 241. A resin member 25 having at least one curved surface is installed on the inner peripheral surface of the form work. Then, a cure type adhesive agent 26 adherent in water or wet state is applied onto the surface of the resin member 25. A concrete 27 is placed into the form work before the cure type adhesive agent 26 is completely hardened or when it is in a semi-hardened state. After the concrete 27 is hardened, the resin-coated segments are removed.

A bolt 7 is inserted into the bolt hole 6, and a nut 7a is tightened to connect the segments 1. Synthetic resin plates 8 having a filler hole 9 and an air vent hole are bonded striding over the plates covered with synthetic resin 3, 3 of the connected concrete segments 1, 1 so as to become flush with an inner surface to put lids on bolt boxes 5, 5. The filler hole 9 passes through spaces of the bolt boxes 5, 5, and foaming polyurethane resin liquid 10 is forced fed to foam and harden it so that the spaces are filled completely.

Fiber reinforced plastic comprising a sheet molding compound or a material for reaction injection molding chiefly comprising norbornane monomer and metathesis catalyst, are used for the thermosetting resin. The box 13 can be closed by a circular cover 151. In this way, the cost of the metal mold and the segment can be reduced. And an excellent sewage shield tunnel can be constructed owing to the watertightness and the chemical-resistance.

Filling of concrete in the recess part constitutes a substantially trapezoidal resin coat segment. The substantially trapezoidal resin segment 1 is stacked successively in the circumferential direction being changed alternately in its direction to form a ring. Next, a tunnel is constructed by continuously setting these rings in the axial direction of a tunnel. As a result, a tunnel can be constructed by one kind of segments, thus the execution can be done with ease at low cost.

The connecting bolt 4 is such that its bolt axis can be displaced from a position where it is parallel to a tunnel axis to a position where it crosses the tunnel axis, and can also keep the connecting plates 3 in a tightened state following displacement, using an energizing part 5 interposed between the connecting plates 3 when the connecting plates 3 are tightened together. The connecting plates 3 have locking parts 6 by which the connecting plates 3 are locked together when tightened together by the connecting bolt 4, thereby reducing the displacement to a certain amount. The ring-to-ring joint 1 is of a simple and inexpensive structure consisting of the connecting plates 3 and the connecting bolt 4 accompanied by the energizing part 5. The structure ensures that the tightened state of the connecting plates 3 is maintained following the displacement. Further, the displacement of each segment ring 2 is reduced to the certain amount by means of the locking parts 6 of the connecting plates 3 where they are locked together, so that large pressures (deformations) can be dealt with by the plurality of rings.
