    • A hair curler set for heating hair curling rollers includes a case accommodating a plurality of cylindrical hair curler rollers arranged in horizontal or slightly inclined parallel alignment and positioned in a row to one or both sides of an elongated heater body containing an electric resistance heater and having its longitudinal axis disposed substantially horizontally and parallel to one side of the case. The case includes cradles for positioning each of the rollers in perpendicular coaxial alignment with a respective one of a plurality of spaced apart horizontally disposed heat transfer portions on the heater body. Each roller has a metallic bottom end shaped to cooperate with the heat transfer portion of the heater body to provide a large heat transfer contact area therebetween. The case and rollers are designed so that the rollers, when positioned in the cradles, have their bottom ends elastically urged into heat-conductive contact with the heat transfer portions of the heater body.

    • A hair curler roller having a top and bottom end adapted to be heated while its bottom end is seated on one of a plurality of identical frusto-conical, heated posts of a heating unit. The roller consists of a cylindrical shell of a material of low heat conductivity, such as a synthetic resin, provided on its outside with hair-gripping means, and of a sleeve of a material of high conductivity, such as aluminum, inserted into the shell in intimate contact therewith. The top of the roller is preferably closed by suitable cover or cap of a synthetic resin, while the shell and the sleeve are open at their bottom. The sleeve comprises an upper cylindrical main portion closely adhering to the inside of the shell, and a lower, short neck portion of a smaller diameter, spaced apart from the shell wall. The neck portion is slotted by a plurality of slots permitting the outward expansion of the neck portion conforming to the shape of the frusto-conical post on which it is positioned.

    • An electric air heating element is designed for positioning in the cylindrical or conical outlet tube of a hair dryer. It consists of a star-shaped coil carrier in the shape of four fins extending radially from a common center line in the axis of the outlet tube towards the tube walls. The fin edges are serrated by adjacent rectangular slots, the slots on each edge penetrating alternately to a shallow and to a greater depth, and a ribbon-shaped resister laid into these slots is helically wound around the coil carrier. In this way successive windings lie in different planes and air turbulence around the heating coil is thereby increased, improving the heat transfer between the resistor windings and the throughflowing air.

    • An immersible heater module for elevating the temperature of a liquid in a container. The heating module has a semispherical shape and is formed with an outer body that inhibits the adherence of residues during the boiling process, such as stainless steel or dielectric-coated stainless steel, and an aluminum inner body. Electrical heating coils are affixed to the aluminum body to heat the aluminum body and transfer heat through the outer body into the liquid. The composite of the inner and outer bodies provides efficient heat transfer for boiling liquid.
