      SOLUTION: To power transmission device comprises a pulley 1 and a hub 2. The hub 2 consists of an inner hub 21 to be fixed to a rotating shaft 4, and an elastic member 23 joined to the outer periphery side of the inner hub 21 at a joint length L. The elastic member 23 has a hub side engaging portion 235 consisting of a series of protruded portions annularly arranged, and a cylindrical portion for linking the hub side engaging portion to the inner hub. The pulley 1 has a pulley side engaging portions 14 consisting of a series of recessed portions to be fitted to the hub side engaging portion 235. The hub side engaging portion 235 and the pulley side engaging portion 14 engage each other to form a torque transmission structure between the hub 2 and the pulley 1. An axial length L of a torque transmission plane TS which is formed with the hub side engaging portion 235 and the pulley side engaging portion 14 abutting on each other is greater than the joint length L between the cylindrical portion and the inner hub 21. It is partially overlapped with the joint length L, when projected in the radial direction.

By this a stress which breaks the breaking part is not a shearing stress but chiefly a tensile stress, further the tensile stress is distributed nearly uniformly in a section differently from the shearing stress, and therefore a stress distribution in the breaking part can be predicted and analyzed comparatively correctly. Therefore, necessities to decide the dimension, material and the like of the breaking part by trial and error are lowered, facilitating the design and development and also the breaking part can be broken not by fatigue but at the predetermined torque surely.
