    • PURPOSE:To peel a recording medium off an ink layer without fail by transporting liquid ink, applying electric energy to the ink in accordance with an image signal to form an ink image and energize, for the formation of an ink image and for reversed polarity, to a part corresponding to the tip of a recording medium for ink. CONSTITUTION:If a recording start signal is input, an ink transport roller 1, a coating roller 4, a transfer roller 6, and transport rollers 8a-8d rotate respectively to coat an ink layer on the roller 1 and transport recording paper 7. If the tip of the recording paper 7 comes to a position for a regist sensor 12, the transport of the recording paper is once suspended, and a voltage of reversed polarity which is opposite to a voltage when an ink image 2a is formed, is supplied to all electrode elements 5d of a recording head 5. Thus a cured part 26 is formed on the ink layer. An ink image 2a is formed on the ink layer by energization for recording to the recording head 5 in accordance with an image signal. When the tip of the cured part 26 reaches a pressure contact part with the transfer roller 6 simultaneously with the formation of an image, the ink image 2a is transferred to the recording paper 7.

    • PURPOSE:To maintain ink applied for coating in an appropriate state and thereby to record a clear image, by providing a coating maintaining means to maintain a layer of the ink applied for coating on an ink transfer means in a prescribed state. CONSTITUTION:When an ink transfer roller 1 rotates, ink 2 is applied in a prescribed layer thickness on the surface of the ink transfer roller 1 by a coating means 4, and it is transferred with the rotation of the ink transfer roller 1. The ink 2 formed in the shape of a prescribed layer on the surface of the ink transfer roller 1 is given an electric energy or the like in the shape of an image pattern by an energy impressing means 5 and an ink image 2a to which an adhesion is given by the energy is formed. The ink image 2a is transferred onto an intermediate transfer roller 6 and then transferred onto a medium 8 to be recorded which is conveyed between a transfer roller 7 and the intermediate transfer roller 6. When the fluid ink 2 applied on the ink transfer roller 1 droops due to gravity, the drooping is detected by a detecting sensor 15, and the ink transfer roller 1, the coating roller 4 and the intermediate transfer roller 6 are rotated for a prescribed time or in a prescribed amount.

    • PURPOSE:To achieve favorable multicolor recording with a simple construction by feeding different-colored fluid inks by supporting the inks in thin layers on a plurality of ink feeding means, and applying energy to each of the ink layers according to an image signal. CONSTITUTION:At the time of recording in only a black ink 7B, both the gap between an ink roller 1A and a coating roller 2A and the circumferential velocity of the roller 2A are maintained appropriately, and a thin ink layer 6B is brought into light contact with an intermediate transfer roller 8. In this condition, energy is supplied patternwise according to an image signal by a recording head 5A, whereby an image of the ink 7B is transferred patternwise to the intermediate transfer roller 8 and then to a recording sheet 11 on a paper support roller 10. At the time of transferring a red ink 7R also, the circumferential velocity of the ink roller 1A is lowered to reduce the thickness of the ink layer 6B so that the ink layer 6B does not make contact with the intermediate transfer roller 8 before a red ink image is similarly re-transferred onto the recording sheet 11. Thus, the multicolor recording can be conducted with a simple construction.

    • PURPOSE:To enable a tacky ink image to be transfer recorded on a transferred image receiving body, by providing an ink the transfer characteristics of which are varied by the application of electric energy thereto, and a power supply for applying a voltage between a conductive image and the ink. CONSTITUTION:An ink 3 is fluid, remains in a non-tacky gel state in a normal condition, and is brought into a tacky sol state when electric energy is applied thereto. A stainless steel plate is used as an electrode plate 2, while a form block 4 comprises an insulating film provided on the surface of a stainless steel conductive plate 4a by applying an insulating coating material such as a varnish and a lacquer to the surface, followed by drying. The insulating film 4b is scratched by a stencil paper to expose the conductive plate 4a, whereby a conductive image 4c can be formed easily. The conductive image 4c is brought into contact with the surface of an ink 3 in an outer container 1, whereby an electric current is passed to the ink 3 in the pattern of the conductive image 4c. As a result, an ink image 3a in the shape of the conductive pattern is formed, and the ink image 3a can be transferred onto a transferred image receiving body 6 such as a paper by pressing the surface of the ink 3 against the body 6.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to form an ink which gives printed character and images of good quality on a recording material and is excellent in storage stability, by using an organic solvent of a specified specific dielectric constant as a liquid dispersing medium in an image recording ink containing a liquid dispersing medium and a crosslinked structure substance for retaining it. CONSTITUTION:This image recording ink is a flowable ink which contains a liquid dispersing medium and a crosslinked structure substance for retaining it and which has an adhesiveness which can be controlled by applying an electric current, wherein said liquid dispersing medium contains an organic solvent of a specific dielectric constant >=15 at 25 deg.C. As said crosslinked structure substance, a hydrophilic polymer, especially, guar gum or polyvinyl alcohol is desirable because it can give a suitable adhesiveness/nonadhesiveness balance. As said organic solvent, a polyalcohol (especially, glycol) or its derivative (e.g., ether or ester) is desirable from the viewpoint of the safety and/or chemical stability of the solvent itself.

    • PURPOSE:To enable inexpensive recording, by bringing a fluid ink into contact with a transfer medium, and supplying energy in a pattern according to an image signal to form an ink image according to the pattern on the medium. CONSTITUTION:A fluid ink 2 is an ink which does not show a pressure sensitive adhesive property and is provided with the property by application of energy thereto, can be obtained by, for example, maintaining water in a crosslinked structure of guar gum or the like. As an intermediate transfer roll 11 as a transfer medium is moved in the direction of an arrow A, the ink 2 is brought into contact with the surface of the roll 1 at an ink contact position 12a, but it is separated from the roll 1 at an ink separation position 12b, so that the ink is not adhered to the roll 1. The ink 2 being moved is supplied with energy, in a pattern according to an image signal, from a recording head 4 at the ink separation position at which it makes contact with the head 4, whereby the ink is provided with a selective pressure sensitive adhesive property, and is transferred onto the roll 1 to form an ink pattern 21. The ink pattern is fed from the ink separation position 12b to an ink image transferring position at which a recording material 5 makes contact with the roll 1, and a transfer- recorded image 22 is formed on the recording material 5.
