    • A method of estimation of harmonic distortion level for a radio receiver operative in a cellular communication system enabled to receive signals from transmitters of one or more cells is disclosed. The method comprises measuring, within a bandwidth of operation, a total received signal power; measuring, within the bandwidth of operation, a received signal power of signals received from the one or more cells, respectively; and estimating a level of harmonic receiver distortions by: determining whether a fraction of the total received signal power and a theoretical noise floor is below or above a first threshold; or determining whether a remaining part of the total received signal power, said remaining part not including said fraction, is above or below a second threshold. A such radio receiver, and a computer program for implementing the method are also disclosed.

    • A radio network controller is operable in both a unicast signaling mode and a bi-cast signaling mode. In unicast signaling mode, the radio network controller is operable to send radio resource control signals to a mobile station through a serving cell. The radio network controller is operable to go into bi-cast signaling mode during a hard handover. In the bi-cast signaling mode, the radio network controller is operable to send radio resource control messages to the mobile station through both the current serving cell and a target cell. The mobile station is configured to listen to both the current serving cell and the target cell for radio resource control messages. User data, however, is transmitted only from the current serving cell to the mobile station.

    • The present invention relates to a scheduling apparatus (100) and a method for a cellular Time-Division Duplex (TDD) radio communication system (180). The apparatus comprises a storage unit configured for holding a database comprising topographical information concerning a geographical area covered by the communication system. The apparatus also comprises a position unit configured for obtaining information concerning a geographical position held by at least one of a first and a second radio communication device (120;160) of the communication system within said area. The apparatus further comprises a scheduling unit configured for allocating a communication time slot as an uplink time slot or a downlink time slot for radio communication between a first base station (110) and said first device (120) of the communication system. Whether the time slot is allocated as an uplink time slot or a downlink time slot is dependent on said position information and on said topographical information.

    • A method of scheduling wireless data transmissions between a mobile terminal and a base station using multiple system carrier signals is disclosed. The method comprises receiving (101) in the mobile terminal information from the base station indicating available system carriers and transmitting from the mobile terminal information indicating the terminal's capability to handle non-contiguous system carriers; detecting (102) at least one dynamic parameter indicative of the terminal's current capability to handle non-contiguous system carriers; determining (103) from the dynamic parameter whether a situation has occurred in which the terminal's capability to handle non-contiguous system carriers has changed; transmitting (104), in such case, a connection release request to the base station; and transmitting (105) a connection setup request and information indicating the terminal's changed capability to handle non-contiguous system carriers to the base station. Thus system carriers that can be handled by the terminal in the present situation can be allocated.
