摘要： The disclosure provides a device for measuring cellular responses under controlled environments. The disclosure also provides an array of devices for measuring cellular responses under controlled environments. The disclosure also provides methods to study cell signaling using the devices. By using microfluidics, the disclosure enables study of cell signaling under well-defined environment conditions. Such capability can be used for differentiating long-acting ligands from short-acting ligands, for determining the kinetics of receptor resensitization and functional recovery of receptor signaling, and for differentiating the sensitivity of a cell type to laminar flow-induced stress force. Through combination with conventional static label-free cell assays, the full spectrum of a drug compound can be studied in details, thus creating a complete representation of its pharmacology acting on living cells.

摘要： An example-based 2D to 3D image conversion method, a computer readable medium therefor, and a system are provided. The embodiments are based on an image database with depth information or with which depth information can be generated. With respect to a 2D image to be converted into 3D content, a matched background image is found from the database. In addition, graph-based segmentation and comparison techniques are employed to detect the foreground of the 2D image so that the relative depth map can be generated from the foreground and background information. Therefore, the 3D content can be provided with the 2D image plus the depth information. Thus, users can rapidly obtain the 3D content from the 2D image automatically and the rendering of the 3D content can be achieved.

摘要： A heating apparatus includes: (i) a laser providing at least one beam of light capable of heating a small area of an object; (ii) a laser driver adapted to adjust optical power of this beam of light; (iii) a photo-detector adapted to detect and measure thermal radiation from the small area; and (iv) a control loop operatively linked to the laser driver and the photo-detector, the control loop providing a signal to the laser driver to adjust optical power of the beam of light based on amount thermal radiation detected by the photo-detector. According to one embodiment of the present the laser is a CO2 laser and the small area is less than 0.25 mm in width. According to another embodiment it is a Nd: YAG laser.

The base station transmits unicast data and E-MBS data in the downlink to mobile stations using physical resource units (PRUs) that are partitioned into a plurality of frequency partitions. The base station transmits E-MBS data using a first set of PRUs in at least a first common frequency partition, wherein the first set of PRUs are also used by at least a second base station to transmit E-MBS data. The base station further transmits unicast data using a second set of PRUs, wherein the second set of PRUs are randomized with respect to PRUs used by the at least a second base station to transmit unicast data.

摘要： Video analytics systems and methods are described that typically comprise a video encoder operable to generate macroblock video analytics metadata (VAMD) from a video frame. Functional modules receive the VAMD and an encoded version of the video frame is configured to generate video analytics information related to the frame using the VAMD and the encoded video frame. The downstream decoder can use the VAMD to obtain a global motion vector related to the frame, detect and track motion of an object within the frame and monitor a line provided or found within the frame. Traversals of the line by a moving object can be detected and counted using information in the VAMD and the line may be part of a polygon that delineates an area to be monitored within the encoded frame. The VAMD can comprise macroblock level and video frame level information.
