    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an explosion proofness to be ensured at low costs by preventing ground water containing gases liable to cause danger of an explosion, such as methane and hydrogen sulfide, from intruding into a boring machine in excavation equipment by which a propulsion pipe is connected to the rear end of the boring machine and a rearmost propulsion pipe is pushed from the back, the propulsion pipe being embedded in the ground while excavating the ground, excavated debris being taken into the boring machine and discharged to the outside of the excavation place. SOLUTION: In the rear of an outer shell 11 of a boring machine 10, a ring member 40 provided with a closing wall 42 is mounted via an air packing 41, and a regulator 46 is provided for force-feeding air into the boring machine 10 and keeping the air pressure in the boring machine at a pressure equal to or higher than the pressure of ground water. A ring member 50 is mounted in the pipe of a joint 34 portion between propulsion pipes 30 and air packings 51 are provided in the front and rear of a joint 34 between the ring member 50 and the propulsion pipe 30, respectively, to form a stagnation chamber 52 between the air packings 51, the stagnation chamber communicating with the joint 34 and being isolated from the inside of the propulsion pipe 30.     • A duct section serves as part of a supply system for supplying electric power or a pressure medium to a mobile appliance and especially to a mining machine in a mine working where protection against explosion or fire is necessary. The duct section has a wall with a longitudinal slot therein and pick-up engages in the slot to collect the electric current or pressure medium. The slot is sealed with the aid of thin flexible sealing strips held flat against the inner and outer surfaces of the slotted wall. The pick-up is shaped to progressively deflect the strips away from the slotted wall to permit the passage of the pick-up and maintains the interior sealing with the aid of further seals slidable engaging with the slotted wall over the region where the strips are deflected.
