    • According to ITU-T Recommendation V. 34, the origination modem and the destination modem implement an original negotiation for determining a transmission rate of facsimile communication by executing a training independent of any controller. If the line therebetween is disconnected due to a communication error without establishment of the negotiation, the communication management information storage RAM 13 stores the communication management information. Thereafter, the CPU 11 eliminates the negotiation peculiar to the modems pursuant to V. 34 for redialing. The CPU 11 performs a negotiation for controlling the modems and selects a transmission mode corresponding to a communication capability of the destination facsimile based upon Recommendations V. 17, V. 29, and V. 27 ter.

    • To reduce the period of time required after a remote printer is instructed to start a print job and before it starts printing and hence reduce the period of time for which the remote printer is occupied, thereby enhancing working efficiency, it is determined whether originals are located on an original table or on a sheet feeder, and if the originals are located on the original table, it is determined whether the job is in an original table accumulation mode in which a local apparatus completes reading images from a plurality of originals before transmitting the images. If the job is not in the original table accumulation mode, the remote apparatus is instructed to start the job before images are read from the originals. On the other hand, if the job is in the original table accumulation mode, the remote apparatus is instructed to start the job after the images have been read from all the originals.

    • A faxing method includes: acquiring an original image which needs to be faxed; converting the original image into a set of concolorous line segments; encoding the set of concolorous line segments to obtain the concolorous line segment code of the image, and sending the concolorous line segment code to the receiving end in the form of faxing. The present invention provides a faxing system and a faxing computer. In accordance with the invention, the encoding with the use of pixel could be prevented from occupying relatively large memory space of the faxing computer and much more CPU, the efficiency of faxing could be improved, therefore, the transmission could be steady even when the faxing system is performing one-to-many faxing, the stability of the faxing system could be improved, and the shutdown of the faxing computer could be reduced.
