    • A magnifying container apparatus including a generally cylindrical member and one or more magnifying lenses is provided for magnifying, viewing, and carrying items. A magnifying lens is detachably connected to the lower end of the cylindrical member to close the lower end. The magnifying lens magnifies the items present below the magnifying lens. The cylindrical member accommodates and carries the items within a space defined by a generally cylindrical wall and between an open upper end and the closed lower end of the cylindrical member. The magnifying container apparatus further includes a threaded rod, a threaded wheel, and a generally cylindrical sieve member. The sieve member drains a predetermined amount of an extraneous element from the magnifying container apparatus, when the threaded rod, in communication with the threaded wheel, traverses the magnifying lens from the lower end of the cylindrical member toward a lower end of the sieve member.

    • The invention relates to a lens-holding device (1) intended to be hooked on a mounting (101) of a conveyor carriage for transporting optical lenses (10) in order for said lenses to be treated by immersion in at least one bath of a treatment machine. The lens-holding device (1) is hooked on in such a way as to form an alignment of devices together with a group of other similar devices in a predetermined direction. The lens-holding device (1) comprises: means (3) for hanging same from the mounting (101); first means (4a) for holding a first optical lens (10) in position on the lens-holding device (1), which include supporting points (a, b, c) defining a first space for the first lens (10); and second means (4b) for holding a second optical lens (10) in position on the lens-holding device (1), which include supporting points (a, b, c) defining a second space for the second lens (10), the two spaces being arranged respectively in two planes separated by an angular distance of less than 30° and forming an angle of less than 30° relative to the direction defined by the alignment of the group of lens-holding devices (1).

    • A multi-focus magnifying glass is disclosed. The multi-focus magnifying glass includes a base plate placed on a supporting surface, a support fixed to the base plate and extended upward, and a lens connected to the end of the support and having a diopter gradually increased from a side thereof to the opposite side thereof so that a user can see magnified letters appearing in the upper and lower sides thereof in an approximately similar size without distortion of images even when magnifying an obliquely inclined (about 45 degrees) book or newspaper placed on a table.

    • An optical display system for magnifying the image of a liquid crystal display cell (314) used in a portable electronic device (310) such as a cellular phone or smart card reader having a light focusing and deflecting array (316), a light coupling element (318) and a magnifying lens element (110). The light focusing and deflecting array (316) includes an array of lenslets (410, 412, 414, 416, 418) that receive light rays from the liquid crystal display cell (314) and impart an angular component to the light rays. The magnitude of this angular component increases moving radially outward along the light focusing and deflecting array. The light coupling element (318) couples the deflected light rays to the magnifying lens element without substantial refraction thereof. The magnifying lens element (110) has a unitary lens having a biaxial gradient index of refraction, which causes the light rays to be bent initially outward then inward. The combination of light focusing and deflecting array (316), light coupling element (318) and magnifying lens element (110) produce a magnified image of liquid crystal display cell (314) within a very low profile package.
