    • A pipe joint for use with a pipe thread provided on a fluid apparatus has a thread designed to mesh with any of pipe threads of different types of the same nominal diameter. Design of the pipe joint is simple because the thread provides mechanical connection, whereas a separate sealing member provides a non-leaking union. The screw-in portion of the pipe joint has an external or an internal thread that meshes with the innermost or the outermost of commonly used mating pipe threads of different types having the same nominal diameter. The axial length of the thread is reduced to a minimum within the limit that the desired firm mechanical connection is secure.

    • A sealing system with sealing ring for coupling members for connecting pipes to user devices such as pumps, compressors, tanks and the like, by means of a shank that screws into a seat provided on the said user devices, comprises a groove and an annular seal. The groove, which is shaped according to the teaching of international standard ISO UNI 5711-65, is situated in a position adjacent to the shank of the coupling member, at the opposite end from the end of the shank. The groove is able to receive the annular seal designed to be pressed against an abutting wall or a flared portion of the seat of the user device in order to establish the seal. In the original configuration prior to assembly, the sealing ring is of an essentially cylindrical shape, whereas, in the configuration of compression on the groove, it assumes a shape adapted to the profile of the groove, which is generally frustoconical.

    • A service TEE forming part of a main fluid line has a laterally extending female fitting with threads and a gasket spaced axially from the distal end of the threads. The threads are non-tapered and cylindrical.     • A fluid coupling assembly particularly adapted for connecting hydraulic conduits to the ports of a fluid manifold. The coupling comprises a male member which is threadedly connected to the port and which includes tapered locking surfaces on the male and female members, respectively, that are in tight frictional engagement when the male member is threaded into the female member. An O-ring is positioned in a pocket and disposed between the threads and the tapered locking surfaces to isolate the locking surfaces from hydraulic fluid, thereby ensuring a dry, frictional wedge lock. The O-ring is of a size that permits it to move axially in the pocket. In a modified embodiment of the coupling, there is provided an adjustable fitting which includes a lock nut having a skirt portion that is wedged into the tapered O-ring pocket.
