    • An improvement in a slotter comprising a shank (10) having a distal side and a proximal side, the shank is adapted to be rotated about a rotatory axis at least two adjacently positioned cutters (20, 24) provided with blades (22); and a nut (34) adapted to uphold the cutters (20, 24) on said shank (10). The improvement for adjusting the width of the cutters comprising a hollow bolt (26) adapted to be mounted on the shank wherein one of the cutters is a movable cutter (24) that is screwed on said hollow bolt (26), and a cap (28) mounted on the shank receives a portion of said hollow bolt and confines the movement of the bolt. Adjusting the width of the cutters is established by screwing the movable cutter (24) on said hollow bolt so that the movable cutter gets closer to the other cutter or draws away from it, depending on the direction of the screw.

    • A multiple saw blade adjustable dado cutter assembly. The cutter can be used with a table saw or a radial arm saw, for example, to make dado cuts in board lumber. A pair of cooperating cams, each connected to a saw blade, can be adjusted to make a dado cut of a desired width. If the desired dado width is wider than the two blade configuration can cut, a center cam attached to another blade can be inserted between the pair of cooperating cams. With the three blade configuration, the three cams cooperate to allow the three blades to be spaced for the desired width of cut. In both configurations and at any spacing width, the two or three blades employed remain in a generally parallel alignment and transverse to the axis of the arbor on which the assembly is secured. To permit the blades to function with this geometrical relationship and to be adjustable, not all of the blade teeth lie in the same plane. The sequentially operating three or more cam assembly has uses beyond dado cutting. Also, the blades can be made to mount directly onto a saw arbor with spacer washers taking the place of the cam assembly. For industrial applications, more than three blade configurations are envisioned.

    • A rotary cutter assembly for cutting or milling the edge of a workpiece which is formed of layers of different materials. The rotary cutter assembly comprises a first cutter head and a separate second cutter head disposed in mutual coaxial relationship. The rotary cutter assembly is adapted for rotation about the mutual coaxial axis. The first cutter head includes at least one cutter blade pocket open to the perimeter of the first cutter head, a cutter blade received within the cutter blade pocket with its cutting edge protruding from the pocket opening beyond the perimeter of the first cutter head, and an adjustment device for adjusting the distance by which the cutting edge of the cutter blade protrudes beyond the perimeter of the cutter head. The second cutter head includes at least one cutting edge formed in the perimeter of the second cutter head.
