    • PURPOSE:To detect an object correctly even when an infrared light generated by some cause acts as disturbance, in a detecting device of the object which uses the infrared light. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 22 detects the existence or nonexistence of disturbance on the basis of a light detection signal K1 at the time when light-emitting elements 6a and 6b emit no light. In the case when no disturbance exists, only the light-emitting element 6a is made to emit a light by a light emission command signal F of a fixed emission modulation frequency and an object (person) is detected on the basis of the light detection signal K1. When the disturbance exists, the existence or nonexistence of the disturbance is detected again on the basis of a light detection signal K2 at the time when the light-emitting elements 6a and 6b emit no light. When no disturbance exists then, the two light-emitting elements 6a and 6b are made to emit lights by the light emission command signal F of the fixed emission modulation frequency and the object is detected on the basis of the existence or nonexistence of the light detection signal K2. When the disturbance exists, the existence or non-existence of the disturbance is detected for a third time on the basis of a light detection signal K3 at the time when the light-emitting elements 6a and 6b emit no light.

CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 22 illuminates at first a luminescent element 6a based on predetermined illumination code A. After a certain time, the microcomputer 22 illuminates the luminescent element 6a based on the predetermined illumination code B. Only when both reflection light of the luminescent element 6a by the two kinds of illumination codes A, B is received by a light receiving element 6b and a light receiving signal R is output from the light receiving circuit 24, the microcomputer 22 judges existence of an object (man). And the microcomputer 22 judges the non-existence of an object when both or one of the reflection lights of the luminescent element 6a by the two kinds of illumination codes A, B is not received by the light receiving element 6b and light receiving signal R is not output from the light receiving circuit 24.

    • PURPOSE:To facilitate mounting of a seat belt by rotating a rotary arm that engages an outer belt on one end and supports the other end on a car body as soon as a driver is seated and moving the outer belt and a tongue plate forward. CONSTITUTION:Before a driver takes a car, a rotary arm 1 and a guide plate 2 are energized by springs 20 and 21, respectively and an outer belt 5 is located as shown in the figure. Then, when the driver takes the car and is seated, a shaft 9 is pressed down by the weight and the guide plate 2 is rotated counterclockwise through a wire 12. At the same time, the rotary arm 1 is pushed in the same direction through a button 15 and the outer belt 5 is moved up to the side of the driver. As a result, when the driver takes up the tongue plate 4 and inserts it in a buckle 8, the lever in the buckle 8 is swayed and a wire 13 is pulled. The button 15 is retreated and the rotary arm 1 returns to the initial position by the spring 20.
