    • A color print head capable of carrying out color display by means of a single kind of phosphor, forming luminous dots into an accurate configuration and positioning the luminous dots with high accuracy. Three luminous blocks are provided on an inner surface of a substrate. The luminous blocks each include four strip-like anode conductors arranged so as to extend in a direction parallel to a main scanning direction. The anode conductors are formed with through-holes of the same configuration in a manner to be obliquely arranged at the same intervals. The through-holes each are provided therein with a ZnO:Zn phosphor. The substrate is provided on an outer surface thereof with color filters for the respective luminous blocks, to thereby take out primary colors. Light emitted from each of the luminous blocks is guided through each of the color filters and irradiated on the same position, resulting in desired color display being reproduced.

    • A fluorescent printer head includes a second control electrode (4) including a plurality of grid plates (5) formed with slits (6) and arranged in parallel above anodes (104), and a first control electrode (1) comprising a single plate member formed with a plurality of slits (3) and arranged above the second control electrode (4). The second control electrode (4) has a dummy grid plate (7) at each end, while the first control electrode (1) has a contiguous dummy grid section (2) at each end. This results in the electric field near the control electrodes being uniform in the longitudinal direction of anodes, preventing nonuniformity of luminance.

    • A high-resolution fluorescent luminous tube is provided wherein no light leaks from the gap between electrodes and fluorescent substance layers are formed with high precision. The fluorescent luminous tube includes anode conductors 3 and bars of a grid 8, arranged over an inner surface of a translucent insulating substrate 1 and spaced apart from one another, the anode conductors each having an opening which exposes the substrate, and a fluorescent substance layer 5 formed in the opening. Light emission of the fluorescent substance layer caused by impingement of electrons emitted from a cathode is observed from the outside of the substrate via the opening. The lightproof insulating layer 12 is formed in the gap between each anode conductor and each bar of the grid. The lightproof insulating layer 12 can block light emission leaking to the front surface through the gap between an anode conductor and a bar of the grid formed on the substrate, thus improving the display contrast. The fluorescent substance layer can be formed inside the opening in an anode conductor by coating a photosensitive fluorescent substance paste all over the surface of a substrate and then exposing it to light through the outer surface of the substrate. This approach can provide a more-simplified process with higher precision, compared with the conventional method where a fluorescent substance paste is coated only in the opening by means of a mask.

    • An optical printer head capable of providing a distinct image free of color shade and color fading. Dot-like lights different in luminous color emitted from a plurality of fluorescent luminous tubes acting as light sources are guided to a common equi-magnification image formation element through a dichroic optical element while being kept from being aligned or coincident with each other, to thereby carry out image formation on a record medium while being arranged in predetermined positional relationship thereon. Also, optical members may be incorporated in the optical printer head, so that optical path lengths of the dot-like lights different in luminous color may be rendered substantially equal to each other.

A transfer unit is disposed the print head to allow the filters to be moved by a regular amount, i.e., a predetermined pitch(“c” to “e”), thereby setting a desired filter to the luminous source. The transfer unit is operated to by the regular amount from one end side of the moving region of the print head. Further, a reset unit is disposed to the print head and is operated when the print head is moved more than the moving region from one end side ad of the moving region of the print head, forcing the moved filter to return to the original position. Furthermore, one end side of the moving region of the print head is provided with an accelerating region for accelerating the print head at a regular speed.

    • An optical printer head capable of increasing a level of a light amount for exposure emitted from luminous dot trains in view of an end cool phenomenon of filamentary cathodes and reducing loss of exposure energy. A light source includes luminous dot trains each constituted by a plurality of luminous dots each including an anode arranged on an anode substrate and a phosphor layer deposited on the anode, as well as filamentary cathodes arranged above the luminous dot trains so as to extend along the trains. A memory device is arranged so as to store therein correction information for ensuring uniform luminescence of the luminous dots. Light-amount correction is carried out on the luminous dots other than those positioned in proximity to each of both ends of the luminous dot trains excluded from light-amount correction, to thereby obtain correction information on the former luminous dots, which is then stored in the memory device. The correction information permits a light amount of each luminous dot to be substantially distributed around a minimum value of a light amount of all luminous dots stored in the memory device.

    • A field emission print head capable of converging electrons and having a structure such that odd order gate lines are connected to a first gate lead electrode, even order gate lines are connected to a second gate lead electrode. When the first gate lead electrode is selected and operated, the potential of the second gate lead electrode is made to be a low level. Since the odd order gate line is disposed between the low level even order gate lines, emitted electrons can be converged. When the second gate lead electrode is selected and operated, also emitted electrons can be converged. Each gate line has field emission cathodes disposed in a zigzag configuration. Since the first gate lead electrode is made to always be a low level as a converting electrode, the field emission print head can easily be manufactured.
