    • The present invention is directed towards a dental bur storage device having a plurality of dental bur receiving holes capable of retaining a plurality of different dental bur types having different shank diameters, wherein, each of the plurality of dental bur receiving holes is tapered to allow a retaining fit to be established with any one of the plurality of different dental bur types having different shank diameters. The advantage of using a receiving hole that has a tapered form is that different types of dental burs having different diameters of shanks may be retained by the receiving holes in the dental bur storage device. This allows a wide range of different brands and different types of dental burs to be accommodated on one single dental bur storage device which greatly simplifies the process of selecting a dental bur for a dentist, particularly during a dental treatment. As the receiving hole is tapered, bur shanks of varying dimensions will be received to different depths within the receiving hole to a point where the receiving hole tapers to a diameter substantially equal to the diameter of the shank of the dental bur being received. Moreover, using this type of receiving hole, positive retention of a dental bur may be achieved when the dental bur storage device is handled roughly or inverted.

    • A latch assembly includes a chassis and a rotatable claw-type latch bolt moveably mounted on the chassis. The latch bolt has a closed position for retaining a striker and an open position for releasing the striker. The latch bolt is provided with a latch abutment remote from a center of rotation. The latch assembly further includes a pawl rotatable about a pawl axis and having an engaged position for holding the latch bolt in the closed position and a disengaged position that allows the latch bolt to move to the open position. The latch assembly includes an eccentric arrangement defining a first axis and the pawl axis remote from the first axis. The latch assembly also includes a reset lever rotatably fixed to the eccentric arrangement for mutual rotation with the eccentric arrangement about the first axis. The latch assembly includes a biasing lever configured to transmit a biasing force to the reset lever at a position remote from the first axis and to the latch bolt via the latch abutment. The latch assembly includes a biasing device arranged to apply the biasing force to the biasing lever. The latch assembly is configured such that when the pawl retains the latch bolt in the closed position, the biasing lever applies a force to the reset lever to promote disengagement of the pawl, and such that when the pawl is disengaged, the biasing lever promotes the rotation of the latch bolt into the open position.

    • A latch assembly includes a latch bolt for engaging an associated striker. The latch bolt has an open position, a safety position and a closed position, which positions correspond to an open condition, a safety condition and closed condition, respectively, in the latch assembly.     • A self-adjusting window circuit suitable for fabrication as a monolithic integrated circuit. The self-adjusting window circuit comprises an input port, a positive edge detector coupled to the input port, a latch coupled to the output of the edge detector and a charging stage coupled to the latch. The input signal comprises a signal having a sequence of pulses appearing at a predetermined scan rate, for example, a composite video signal. The input port feeds the input signal to the edge detector which produces a pulse output signal in response to detecting a pulse in the input signal. The pulse output from the edge detector is latched and used to generate a charging control signal which controls the charging stage. In response to the charging control signal, the charging stage produces a window control signal for a predetermined period. The circuit includes a feedback network which injects the window control signal into the positive edge detector so that the positive edge detector is disabled while the window control signal is active.
