    • Electrical terminals having the same shape are provided and which can be integrated. Two latch flanges 7 are provided projecting in symmetrical positions on the circumference of an eye-shaped connection region 5, and hook portions 10 into which the companion latch flanges 7 enter are formed in positions adjacent to the latch flanges 7 to the rear in the clockwise direction. Projections 12 are formed by shearing the surface of the connection region 5 upwards, inwards from the latch flanges 7, and to the front of these are formed lock holes into which the companion projections 12 fit. The connection region 5 of one terminal 1 is laid over the top surface of the connection region 5 of another terminal 1 concentrically, then the upper terminal is turned clockwise, whereupon the latch flanges 7 engage into the companion hooks 10; the projection 12 of the lower terminal 1 fits in the companion lock hole 13 so that the two terminals 1 are integrated.

    • A pair of connector housing may be temporarily engaged so as to facilitate efficient connection operation thereof. A lever 15 is pivotably attached to a side wall of the male connector housing 11. When a female connector housing 12 is inserted into the male connector housing 11, a cam receiving protrusion 17 of a cover 13 resiliently deforms lugs 15a of a lever 15 to be opened, so that the cam receiving portion may be advanced through a portion 23 into a cam groove 16. After such advancement, lugs 15a are returned to their original position by means of resilient deformation, so that the portion 23 is engaged with the cam receiving protrusion 17, so as to prevent dislodgement of the cam receiving protrusion. The thickness of the portion 23 of the cam groove is selected so as to prevent dislodgement of the cam receiving protrusion. A restricting protrusion 24 is protruded laterally from the cam receiving protrusion 17. The restricting protrusion serves to urge the lugs 15 downwardly, so as to maintain constant amount of engagement between the cam receiving protrusion 17 and the portion 23 of the cam groove. Another restricting protrusion 25 extending in a vertical direction may be provided in the side wall 1 of the male connector housing 11.

A frame-shaped rib 32 and a lattice-shaped rib 33 provided inside the rib 32 for partitioning cavities 23 project from an engaging end surface 20A of a female housing 20. The ribs 32, 33 enter the press-in grooves 46, 47 as the housings 10, 20 are connected and come into sealing contact with the outer circumferential surfaces of the sealing portions 45. The sealing member 40 is accommodated within an area of the engaging end surface 20A of the female housing 20.

    • A connector is provided to achieve individual water protection while reducing connection force without complicating the construction of housings. The connector includes female housing 10 with an inner housing 11 formed with cavities 14 into which female terminal fittings 2 are insertable and an outer housing 12 accommodating the inner housing 11. A male housing 40 is provided with a smaller receptacle 42 into which the inner housing 11 is fittable, and male terminal fittings 44 are mounted to project into the smaller receptacle 42. A second gelatinous material 46 is mounted on a back surface 42A of the smaller receptacle 42 in advance while being penetrated by the male terminal fittings 44. As the housings 10, 40 are connected, the second gelatinous material 46 is compressed between the back surface 42A of the smaller receptacle 42 and a front surface 11A of the inner housing 11, thereby providing water protection between the housings 10, 40 and between the respective cavities 14 of the inner housing 11.

    • A retainer 20 is rotatably mounted on a connector housing 11. When the retainer 20 is pivoted toward the connector housing 11, engaging projections 25 engage terminal fittings 16 inserted into corresponding terminal fitting cavities 3. Each engaging projection 25 is formed with a push-out slanting surface 25b and a push-in slanting surface 25c, the slanting surfaces 25b and 25c being sloped inversely from each other. The retainer 20 is formed with an elastic member 26 for producing a spring force. The elastic member 26 renders such a force as to push back the terminal fittings 16 until shoulder portions 16b of the terminal fittings 16 pass the push-out slanting surfaces 25b, while rendering such a force as to push the terminal fittings 16 to their proper mount positions after the shoulder portions 16b of the terminal fittings 16 reach the push-in slanting surfaces 25c.
