    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the period of a sheave unit replacement work by applying the constitution that a rope wound around a hoist is fixed to a car, and a rope wound around a rope delivery device is fixed to a counterweight. SOLUTION: At the time of replacing a sheave unit 2, a car 10 is temporarily stopped and, then, ropes 12 and 14 respectively wound around a hoist 8 and a rope delivery device 13 are delivered by the prescribed length. Also, the sheave unit 2 is hoisted with a hoisting device installed on a workbench, and placed on the beam of an upper floor. Finally, the temporary stoppage state of the car 10 is released. Subsequently, a climbing process over an area covering the second to the third floors is repeated according to the progress of a work. When a building is completed, temporary installations including the sheave unit 2, the rope delivery device 13 and a temporary machine room 7 are dismantled, and a genuine machine room is built at the upper part of an elevator shaft 1. Then, the car 10 and a counterweight 11 are suspended by use of a genuinely installed hoist and substantial ropes.

    • PURPOSE:To remove simultaneously and simply a cooling load due to solar radiation in summer and a heating load due to cold radiation in winter by a construction wherein Peltier elements held by paired cunductive layers between are provided on one surface of window glass and the conductive layers and the Peltier elements are formed of light-transmitting materials. CONSTITUTION:Conductive layers 2, Peltier elements 3 constituted of n-type and p-type semiconductors and conductive layers 4 are formed in this sequence on one surface of window glass 1 by using a technique of evaporation. All of these conductive layers 2 and 4 and Peltier elements 3 are formed of light- transmitting materials and the n-type and p-type semiconductors constituting the Peltier elements 3 are disposed alternately in the shape of a matrix so that they are held by the conductive layers 2 and 4 between. When a direct current is made to flow from an electrode 5 as shown by the arrow, absorption of heat occurs on one conductive layer 2 side and generation of heat occurs on the other conductive layer 4 side. When the direction of the current is reversed, the generation of heat occurs on one conductive layer 2 side and the absorption of heat occurs on the other conductive layer 4 side.
