    • A product-on-demand delivery system applies an agricultural product, such as seed, to a field. The system includes a frame that mounts a main hopper, a splitter fitting, a primary product hose, a secondary product hose, a primary application unit and a secondary application unit. The main hopper has an air nozzle wherein an air stream through the air nozzle entrains product within the air stream and delivers the air/product to the primary outlet hose. The splitter fitting has a splitter inlet flow-connected to the primary product hose and two splitter outlets flow-connected to the application units. The secondary application unit is coupled to the primary product supply hose by the secondary product hose connected at an outlet branch. The outlet branch is connected at an angle such that a product flow velocity vector in the primary product supply hose at the outlet branch is at an obtuse angle to a flow velocity vector of product flowing through the outlet branch. The outlet branch is oriented for a vertical upward flow of air and product.

    • A multi-sheet article comprising a plurality of sheets is disclosed. Each of the sheets has opposite first and second faces that share a common perimeter edge. Each sheet also has an edge margin that extends from a portion of the perimeter edge of the respective sheet. The edge margins of the sheets are bound to each other in a manner connecting the sheets to each other. At least a first one of the sheets comprises a first removable portion and at least one frangible connection that is configured and adapted to facilitate the separation of the first removable portion from the remainder of the first sheet and from the other sheets. This first removable portion comprises a portion of magnetized material. However, the edge margin of the first sheet of the multi-sheet article is devoid of magnetized material.

    • A piping elbow capable of facilitating a fluid flow direction change in a smaller space than conventional piping elbows, without causing the larger pressure losses found when using conventional elbows in the equivalent space. Piping elbows of the present invention comprise a substantially-cylindrical body having a first end, a second end, and a substantially-constant inside diameter; a tangential inlet attached to the body near the first end of the body and having an inside diameter smaller than the inside diameter of the body; and a tangential outlet attached to the body near the second end of the body and having an inside diameter smaller than the inside diameter of the body. Fluid flows linearly through the tangential inlet and enters the body. Inside the body, linear motion of the fluid is converted into a rotational or spiral motion. The fluid in the body continues its spiral motion as it also moves axially through the body toward the tangential outlet. The fluid exits the body through the tangential outlet. Upon exiting through the tangential outlet, rotational or spiral motion of the fluid in the body is converted back into linear motion. The piping elbows can comprise two substantially-identical components attached to each other. The two substantially-identical components can be removably attached to each other and oriented at a selected degree relative to each other to effect a desired change in the direction of fluid flow.

    • A catheter is attached to an elongated catheter body adapted for endovascular insertion with a balloon assembly at its distal end. Coolant injected through the catheter body may, in different embodiments, directly cool tissue contacting the balloon, or may cool a separate internal chamber. In the first case, the coolant also inflates the balloon, and spent coolant is returned to the handle via a return passage extending through the body of the catheter. A valve may regulate back pressure in the return passage to coordinate the flow of coolant into and out of the balloon so as to both inflate the balloon and achieve cryogenic cooling at the surface of the balloon. The coolant is biologically safe, and may be liquid carbon dioxide. Plural balloons may be provided adjacent the cooling segment, and one balloon may be shaped to treat the ostium of a vessel. Preferably, thermal conductivity of the balloon wall is enhanced by inclusion of thermally conductive material, such as metal, which may be introduced as a component of a composite elastomer material, or as a patterned metal layer that defines a pattern of thermally conductive treatment regions of the balloon surface. Patterns formed by printing, lithography or other means with copper, silver or other highly thermally conductive material enhance through-conduction characteristics of the wall so icing preferentially occurs to stimulate tissue destruction and vascular regeneration. Suitable patterns include spirals, dots, arrays of separated segments, or meandering curves which allow expansion of the balloon body without introducing delamination, localized stress cracking or separation of the balloon material. The conductive patterns may include patterns such as waffle-iron or other arrays of small lesions that are effective to treat the endovascular wall. When separate media are used for cooling and for balloon expansion, the cooling chamber may have a large diameter, and the balloon may form a thin shell or cuff. In that case, the balloon may be quickly inflated with a medium such as a saline to provide a quickly deployed and compliant contact structure of excellent conductivity.

    • An apparatus for measuring fluid flow velocity includes an oscillation generator triggered by a circuit driver and a receiver which are disposed in oblique, opposed relation with respect to the direction of flow of the fluid, and an analyzing circuit for the determination of the transit time of the oscillations through the fluid, which analyzing circuit is made up by an exclusive OR-circuit connected on the input side of the receiver and to the oscillation generator operating with constant frequency and constructed as a square-wave impulse generator, a low-pass filter following it, and circuit means for detecting the differential value between a reference voltage and the voltage at the low-pass filter. The apparatus measures the phase-shift between the emitted and received signals, as a result of which a high accuracy is achieved even in case of short measuring distances and the apparatus can be constructed at very low costs.
