摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer supply device capable of accurately retaining a desired amount of developer in a developer retaining unit, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A developer supply device includes: a developer retaining unit 90a that temporarily retains a developer supplied from a developer storage container 71 storing the developer; a conveying unit 90b that includes inside a conveying member, and conveys the developer retained in the developer retaining unit 90a to a developing device 4; a developer detection sensor 95 that detects a developer at a position separated from a bottom surface of the developer retaining unit 90a by a predetermined distance; and a control unit 210 for controlling the drive of a supply member that supplies the developer in the developer storage container from a supply port 72a to the developer retaining unit 90a. The developer supply device further includes circularly conveyance means for circularly conveying the developer in the developer retaining unit inside the developer retaining unit, and the developer detection sensor 95 detects a developer at positions other than a reception part of the developer retaining unit 90a receiving the developer to be supplied.
