摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the temperature rise of an intermediate transfer body and a fixing member and the in-body temperature rise by selectively heating a location corresponding to an unfixed image with respect to a recording medium, and to form a stable image of high image quality. SOLUTION: A laser light source 4 functioning as a heating source for the recording medium P on which toner 6 primarily transferred on the intermediate transfer body 1 is transferred is arranged above a fixing roller 3. The corresponding location A of the recording medium P is selectively heated in synchronism with the toner 6 having the unfixed image in the width direction orthogonal to the carrying direction of the recording medium P of the fixing roller 3. The spot diameter of laser light L is set so that a range larger than latent image recording pixels on the image carrier 7 can be irradiated with the light L. The irradiating direction is the width direction (axial direction) orthogonal to the carrying direction of the recording medium P of the fixing roller 3.
