As the coupler, a hydroxydiphenylsulfonic acid derivative represented by formula I (R1 is H, a halogen atom, or a hydroxy group and R2 and R3 are H, a hydroxy group or an alkyl group), a salicylic acid derivative represented by formulae II, III (Ar and Ar2 are a phenyl group or a naphthyl group, R1 and R2 are a 1-12C alkylene group, X1 and X2 are a 1-12C alkyl group and m and n are respectively an integer of 1-3) and 4,4'-bis(p-toluenesulfonylaminocarbonylamino) diphenylmethane are used. As the dispersant, an ammonium salt of a maleic anhydride type copolymer is used.

Further, 0.1-50 pts.wt. of ercamide is added per 100 pts.wt. of the coupler. By this constitution, the thermal recording material not bringing about the lowering of whiteness at the time of production and excellent in the whiteness preservability against temp. or humidity and the plasticizer resistance of a recording image and enhanced in recording sensitivity is obtained.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material wherein a thermal recording layer and a peelable concealing layer of which measured opacity is a specific value or higher are successively laminated on a base material to conceal recorded contents. CONSTITUTION:Specific amounts of colorless or light-colored basic dye and a color developing agent are added into aqueous solution of an aqueous binder such as polyvinyl alcohol or the like, and mixed to prepare coating liquid for thermal recording layer. A specific amount of inorganic or organic and white or colored pigment or dye is added into aqueous solution of a binder such as starch group, polyvinyl alcohol, etc., and mixed to prepare coating liquid for concealing layer. The coating liquid for thermal recording layer is applied onto a base material such as paper, plastic film, etc., and dried to form a thermal recording layer. Thereafter, the coating liquid for concealing layer is applied thereon, dried, and a concealing layer is laminated to obtain a thermal recording material. Further, an intermediate layer containing metal salt of higher fatty acid being releasability improver or the like is preferably provided between the thermal recording layer and the concealing layer. Opacity (JIS P 8131) of the concealing layer is made 90% or higher.
