    • Disclosed is a method and an apparatus for accelerating and shooting a flying body at superhigh speed, consisting of a capacitor in which a high electric charge can be stored; a primary coil connected to the capacitor via a switching means; a conductive cylindrical liner disposed in the primary coil; an opening defined on a cylindrical wall of the cylindrical liner; and a flying body interposed in the opening and assuming electrical continuity with the liner; wherein a high electric charge stored in the capacitor is momentarily applied to the primary coil so as to compress abruptly the cylindrical liner radially inward and to shoot the flying body interposed in the opening toward the axis of the liner.

    • A sintered product of silicon nitride containing not smaller than 70 mol % of a .beta.-silicon nitride as well as an element of the Group 3a at least including Lu of periodic table and impurity oxygen, wherein when the content of the element of the Group 3a of periodic table and the content of the impurity oxygen are, respectively, expressed being reckoned as the amount of an oxide of the element of the Group 3a of periodic table (RE.sub.2 O.sub.3) and as the amount of SiO.sub.2 of impurity oxygen, their total amount is from 2 to 30 mol %, the molar ratio (SiO.sub.2 /RE.sub.2 O.sub.3) of the amount of the element of the Group 3a of periodic table reckoned as the oxide (RE.sub.2 O.sub.3) thereof to the amount of impurity oxygen reckoned as SiO.sub.2 is from 1.6 to 10, and the intergranular phase of the sintered product chiefly comprises a crystal phase consisting of the element of the Group 3a of periodic table, silicon and oxygen and a process for producing the same. The sintered product has a large strength from room temperature through up to high temperatures and maintains excellent resistance against oxidation even at high temperatures, and exhibits excellent resistance against creeping and excellent breaking toughness.

    • The object of the present invention is to provide a spray-on (gunning) refractory composition having high anti-stripping property, adhesive strength and corrosion resistant property suitable even for high temperature operation in steelmaking furnace. To refractory materials, resol type phenolic resin powder, being in semi-melting state at 80.degree. C. to 500.degree. C. and having weight average molecular weight of 1,000 to 15,000 and residual monomer of not more than 1,000 ppm, or phenol-formaldehyde resin powder, being in heat melting, self-hardening state at 100.degree. C. to 500.degree. C., having weight average molecular weight of 1,000 to 15,000 and residual monomer of not more than 1,000 ppm, and containing reactive methylol group by 6 to 9 weight %, said phenol-formaldehyde resin powder being added by 2 to 10 weight %, and pitch with high softening point of 100.degree. C. to 500.degree. C. being added by 2 to 10 weight %.

    • A communication control system for providing and registering a plurality of virtual circuits and sequentially transferring cells via the virtual circuits in response to request for transferring cells in an synchronous transfer mode is described. The communications control system comprises a device for determining whether or not it is permitted to transfer a cell via each virtual circuit having been registered in order to control the rate of transferring cells via the virtual circuit, and a device for erasing the registration of each virtual circuit if no cell is transferred via the virtual circuit for a predetermined time period after latest transmission on the basis of information for controlling the rate of transferring cells via the virtual circuit. In this configuration, erroneous operation is prevented which originates from overflow occurring in a counter for counting the present time.
